Over five days you progress from Foundation, which builds knowledge of the framework, to Practitioner, which proves you can apply and tailor it to real projects. You cover the eight principles, the six-phase lifecycle, defined roles, MoSCoW prioritization and timeboxing, all aligned to the current AgilePM Handbook and exam syllabi. The course suits project managers, business analysts, PRINCE2 and Scrum professionals and delivery leads who need agility with real governance. How to Get Agile PM CertifiedStep-by-Step Certification Process

The path to Online Agile PM certification follows a structured two-exam route. There are no prerequisites for the Foundation examination. After completing the combined Foundation and Practitioner training, candidates progress through both certification exams to demonstrate their knowledge of Agile Project Management principles and practices. Most learners complete the process within 1 to 2 weeks after training.

Step 1: Complete the Agile PM Foundation and Practitioner Training

Enrol in the Invensis Learning Agile PM Foundation and Practitioner Certification training (5-Day Live Online Bootcamp, E-Learning, or Corporate Group Training). The integrated programme covers the Agile PM lifecycle, roles and responsibilities, project control, requirements, estimating, and risk management.

Step 2: Sit the Agile PM Foundation Exam

Take the Foundation exam: 50 multiple-choice questions, 40 minutes, 50% pass mark (25 of 50), closed book. Delivered online proctored from your home or office, or at an approved test centre.

Step 3: Earn the Agile PM Foundation Credential

On passing the Foundation exam, your Agile PM Foundation certificate is issued. The Foundation credential validates your knowledge of Agile project management fundamentals.

Step 4: Sit the Agile PM Practitioner Exam

Take the Practitioner exam: 4 objective-test questions, 2.5 hours, 50% pass mark (40 of 80 points), open book to the official Agile PM manual. The Practitioner exam is scenario-based and tests applied knowledge in realistic project contexts.

Step 5: Activate Your Agile PM Foundation and Practitioner Credentials

On passing both exams, you earn both the Agile PM Foundation and Practitioner certificates. The Foundation credential is lifetime valid; the Practitioner credential typically has a 5-year validity, renewable via continuing professional development (CPD) or re-examination.

Step 6: Maintain Your Practitioner Credential

Maintain your Agile PM Practitioner credential by earning CPD points each year or by re-sitting the Practitioner exam before the 5-year validity expires. Foundation does not require renewal.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner is a combined credential in structured agile project management, based on DSDM and governed by the Agile Business Consortium, formerly the DSDM Consortium. Foundation proves you understand the framework, while Practitioner proves you can apply and tailor it to real projects.

    General

What is the AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner certification?

AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner is a combined credential in structured agile project management, based on DSDM and governed by the Agile Business Consortium, formerly the DSDM Consortium. Foundation proves you understand the framework, while Practitioner proves you can apply and tailor it to real projects.

Who should take this combined AgilePM course?

This course suits project managers, business analysts, delivery leads and team members, as well as PRINCE2 and Scrum professionals who want to add governed agile delivery to their profile. It is ideal for anyone who needs agility with real project-level governance.

Is AgilePM worth it in 2026?

Yes. Governed agile skills are in strong demand as regulated sectors scale agile beyond single teams. Agile Project Managers in the US average around $126,000 a year, and AgilePM holders stand out because project-level governed-agile talent is scarce. Request a quote to start.

How is AgilePM different from Scrum?

Scrum is a team-level delivery framework, while AgilePM governs the full project lifecycle from strategic alignment to benefits. The two are complementary: AgilePM provides the governance wrapper that Scrum delivery teams sit inside.

    Is AgilePM recognized internationally?

Yes. AgilePM is recognized in over 150 countries and is especially strong in the UK, Europe and markets where structured project governance is required alongside agile delivery.

    Pricing

How much does AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner training cost?

Pricing for the combined training and dual exam package is available on request, as it varies by region, format and currency. The bundle typically covers instruction for both levels, courseware and exam preparation. Request a quote for current fees and options.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes AgilePM-aligned courseware, industry case studies, full-length mock exams, practice questions and dedicated learner support across both the Foundation and Practitioner levels.

Are the exam fees included in the price?

The combined package usually includes vouchers for both the Foundation and Practitioner exams, but inclusions vary by plan. Confirm exactly what is included when you request a quote.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customized schedules and volume-based pricing for project teams, PMOs and delivery functions. Talk to a learning advisor for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer installment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass an exam on the first try?

You get structured mock exams, practice questions and trainer guidance built around a first-attempt pass. If you need to resit, retake support is available, so a single result never blocks your progress.

What is the format of the AgilePM Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions in 40 minutes, closed book, with single-answer questions. The pass mark is 50%, which is 25 out of 50 correct. There are no formal prerequisites to sit it.

What is the format of the AgilePM Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 4 scenario-based questions worth 15 marks each, 60 marks in total, over 2 hours. It is open book, with the AgilePM Handbook permitted. The pass mark is 50%, which is 30 out of 60 marks.

How many exams are in the combined program?

Two separate exams. You sit the Foundation exam first, then the Practitioner exam. You must pass both to hold the full AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner credential.

Which syllabus are the exams based on?

Both exams are based on the current AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi and the current edition of the AgilePM Handbook, published by the Agile Business Consortium.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. AgilePM Foundation has no formal prerequisites, so beginners can start here. The training builds knowledge from the ground up before moving into the applied Practitioner content.

What topics are covered in the training?

The course covers the eight AgilePM principles, the six-phase lifecycle, business, technical and management roles, MoSCoW prioritization, timeboxing, and planning, control and risk within the AgilePM governance model.

What are the eight AgilePM principles?

They are: focus on the business need, deliver on time, collaborate, never compromise quality, build incrementally from firm foundations, develop iteratively, communicate continuously and clearly, and demonstrate control.

    What is MoSCoW prioritization?

MoSCoW stands for Must have, Should have, Could have and Won't have this time. AgilePM uses it to fix time and cost while flexing scope, so teams always deliver the essential requirements on schedule.

How long is the combined training?

The combined program runs for about 40 hours, typically delivered over five days. Foundation content usually comes first, followed by the applied Practitioner content and exam preparation.
