Is PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Bulgaria?

Yes. Bulgaria is delivering major EU-funded transport, energy and building projects while facing a construction skills shortage, so certified project leaders are in demand. PMI-CP proves construction-specific competence and supports roles from project manager to programme manager, which command strong pay locally.

Do I need a PMP before taking PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two are complementary: PMP validates broad project management, while PMI-CP validates construction-specific expertise, and many professionals hold both.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can count toward renewal.

How much does the PMI-CP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam separately and prices vary by region. For reference, the fee is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members. PMI membership, roughly USD 139 per year, can reduce the exam cost. Confirm current fees on pmi.org before applying.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and you get 230 minutes, which is 3 hours 50 minutes. It is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

There are four domains per the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is by far the largest, reflecting how central contracts are to construction.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score, so there is no published fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. Aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

Where can I take the PMI-CP exam in Bulgaria?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctored system from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal within your one-year eligibility period.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass with confidence.

What does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers all four exam domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance. You learn contract administration, variations and claims, stakeholder engagement, scope and schedule control, risk, quality and project governance, plus exam strategy.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules for PMI-CP?

Before applying, you must complete four self-paced modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and awards 14 PDUs, giving 56 PDUs in total.

Which standard is the PMI-CP training based on?

The training is aligned to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the current edition of the PMBOK Guide, along with construction industry standards and practices. This keeps your preparation grounded in the current exam and PMI's foundational guidance.

Does this training meet the 35 contact-hour requirement?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of project management education PMI requires across all eligibility sets. Check with our team whether supplementary self-study or pre-reading is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 120-question, closed-book PMI-CP format, plus topic-wise quizzes so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-CP?

You must complete all four prerequisite modules, plus meet one of three sets: a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months. All experience must be within the past 10 years, with 35 contact hours of PM education.

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course?
