Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

It is a combined EXIN qualification, delivered in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, that validates both foundational business analysis knowledge and the applied ability to use BA techniques in real project scenarios. You sit two separate exams to hold both credentials.

    General

What is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a combined EXIN qualification, delivered in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, that validates both foundational business analysis knowledge and the applied ability to use BA techniques in real project scenarios. You sit two separate exams to hold both credentials.

Who should take this course in Bermuda?

It suits aspiring analysts, IT and project professionals moving into BA roles, and practising analysts who want to formalise their skills. In Bermuda it is especially relevant to those working in insurance, reinsurance, banking and fintech change delivery.

Is the EXIN BCS Business Analysis certification recognised in Bermuda?

Yes. EXIN operates in more than 165 countries and BCS is the UK's chartered professional body for IT, so the credential has strong recognition across Bermuda and the wider Commonwealth, including insurance, banking and professional services employers.

Is the certification worth it and what is the return?

Yes. Business analysts are in steady demand across Bermuda's insurance, banking and fintech sectors, where analyst pay ranges from around BMD 62,000 for associate roles to BMD 130,000 for managers. A recognised credential helps you stand out in a small, competitive talent pool.

How long are the certifications valid?

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are for lifetime. Neither credential expires, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement once you have passed each exam.

What standard is the course based on?

The course is aligned to the EXIN BCS Business Analysis Examination Specifications and the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BCS BoK), the recognised reference for the discipline. Both credentials are quality-assured by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

    Pricing

How much does the training cost in Bermuda?

Pricing for the combined Foundation and Practitioner training in Bermuda is available on request and varies by delivery format. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote and upcoming batch dates.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes BCS-aligned courseware, industry case studies, Foundation and Practitioner practice questions, mock exams, and learner support. Confirm current inclusions, including exam vouchers, when you request a quote.

Are the EXIN exam fees included in the training price?

Exam voucher inclusion varies by package, and EXIN exam pricing depends on region and purchasing channel. We can confirm whether Foundation and Practitioner vouchers are bundled when you enquire. Ask about corporate or group pricing for teams.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments across Bermuda. Request a tailored group quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How many exams are there and what is the format?

There are two separate exams. The Foundation exam uses single-answer multiple-choice questions to test knowledge, while the Practitioner exam uses scenario-based multiple-choice questions that test how you apply BA techniques. Both are closed book.

How many questions are there and how long is each exam?

Each exam has 40 questions and lasts 60 minutes. The Foundation exam covers 14 topic areas, and the Practitioner exam covers 7 applied topic areas, both aligned to the EXIN BCS Examination Specifications.

What is the passing score for the exams?

The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct. Aim for broad mastery across every topic area rather than focusing on a few.

What are the prerequisites for each level?

The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level, which is why the combined programme covers Foundation first.

Where can I take the exams and what if I do not pass first time?

You can sit both exams online through EXIN's proctored system or at an accredited testing location, usually arranged as part of your training package. If you need to resit, our trainers provide guidance and revision support; confirm the current resit policy at exin.com.

What will I learn in the course?

You will learn the full business analysis toolkit: investigation and elicitation, requirements engineering, stakeholder analysis, business process and requirements modelling, strategy analysis, solution definition, and business case development, then apply it in practitioner scenarios.

Do I need prior experience to take the course?

No. The Foundation level is beginner-friendly and needs no prior business analysis experience. The programme builds from foundational concepts to applied practitioner techniques, so newcomers and experienced professionals both benefit.

What does the Foundation level cover?

The Foundation level covers 14 topic areas, including what business analysis is, strategy analysis, investigation techniques, stakeholder management, business process and requirements modelling, making the business case, and delivering the business solution.

What does the Practitioner level cover?
