    What is the format of the EXIN BCS exams?

    Both exams are closed book. The Foundation exam uses single-answer multiple-choice questions, while the Practitioner exam uses scenario-based multiple-choice questions that present realistic project situations requiring you to apply BA techniques.

    How many questions are on each exam and how long?

    Each exam has 40 questions and lasts 60 minutes. You sit two separate EXIN exams, one for Foundation and one for Practitioner, and must pass both to hold both credentials.

    What is the passing score?

    The pass mark is 65% for both exams, which is 26 correct out of 40 questions. The same threshold applies to the Foundation and the Practitioner exam.

    Do I need to pass Foundation before Practitioner?

    The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level. The combined programme covers Foundation content first, then Practitioner, so you build the required knowledge before the applied exam.

    Where do I sit the exams and can I retake them?

    Both exams are taken online through EXIN's proctored system or at an accredited testing location, usually arranged through the training provider. Retake policies are set by EXIN, so verify current re-sit terms when you book your exam.
