The Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) is a Scrum Alliance credential that teaches the Scrum framework from the Product Owner's perspective. It suits aspiring product owners, business analysts, managers, founders and anyone who works with a Scrum team and wants to own the Product Backlog and maximise value.

    General

What is the CSPO certification and who is it for?

The Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) is a Scrum Alliance credential that teaches the Scrum framework from the Product Owner's perspective. It suits aspiring product owners, business analysts, managers, founders and anyone who works with a Scrum team and wants to own the Product Backlog and maximise value.

Is the CSPO worth it for product professionals in Denmark?

Yes. With Danish fintech, pharma, energy and software organisations running on Scrum, trained product owners are in demand. Product Owner roles in Denmark average around kr 575,000 a year, and the credential helps you stand out and step into product ownership.

    Who awards the CSPO credential?

Scrum Alliance awards the CSPO credential. It is granted on successful completion of an approved course delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), with the course aligned to the current Scrum Guide and the Scrum Alliance CSPO learning objectives.

Do I need prior experience to take the CSPO course?

No. There is no formal education or work-experience requirement. The course welcomes those new to the Product Owner role as well as professionals who want to formalise existing product ownership experience.

How long is the CSPO credential valid?

The CSPO is valid for two years. You renew it by earning 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and paying the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee. A two-year Scrum Alliance membership is included when you complete the course.

    Pricing

What is included in the CSPO course fee?

The fee typically covers live instructor-led training by a Certified Scrum Trainer, course materials, practical exercises, the CSPO credential on completion, and a two-year Scrum Alliance membership. For exact inclusions and a quote, talk to a learning advisor.

How much does CSPO training cost in Denmark?

Pricing varies by format and schedule, so we quote it on request. The course price includes the Scrum Alliance certification and membership, with no separate exam fee because the CSPO has no exam. Request a quote for current Denmark pricing.

Is there a separate exam fee for the CSPO?

No. The CSPO has no exam, so there is no separate exam fee. You earn the credential by completing the approved course, and the Scrum Alliance certification and two-year membership are included in your enrolment.

    Certification

Is there an exam to become CSPO certified?

No. The CSPO has no examination. The credential is awarded by Scrum Alliance once you complete an approved CSPO course delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer, so you can focus on learning and applying product ownership rather than sitting a test.

How do I get CSPO certified?

Attend and complete an approved CSPO course delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer, in live virtual or classroom format. After completion you accept the Scrum Alliance licence agreement, and the CSPO credential and digital badge appear in your Scrum Alliance member account.

What does the CSPO course cover?

It covers Scrum theory, the Product Owner accountability, product vision and the Product Goal, Product Backlog management and refinement, stakeholder collaboration and value, and release planning and forecasting, all aligned to the Scrum Alliance CSPO learning objectives.

How do I maintain the CSPO credential?

Renew every two years by earning 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and paying the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee. SEUs can come from training, conferences, coaching, self-study and other learning activities.

Where does the CSPO sit in the Scrum Alliance track?

The CSPO is the first level of the Scrum Alliance Product Owner track. You can progress to Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO) and then Certified Scrum Professional, Product Owner (CSP-PO) as you build experience.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the CSPO training?

Can a beginner take the CSPO course?

Yes. The course assumes no prior Scrum experience and builds from the fundamentals. Trainers use practical, scenario-based exercises so beginners and experienced professionals alike can apply the concepts to real product work.

Which Scrum Guide edition is the course based on?

The course is aligned to the current Scrum Guide and the Scrum Alliance CSPO learning objectives, including the Product Goal as the Product Backlog commitment and the Product Owner's accountability for maximising product value.

What materials and support are included?
