    General

What is the CSM certification and who is it for?

CSM is the Scrum Alliance entry-level Scrum Master certification. It validates your understanding of the Scrum framework, the Scrum Master role, and the values that make Scrum teams effective. It suits aspiring Scrum Masters, developers, testers and project managers moving into agile delivery.

Is CSM certification worth it in the Dominican Republic?

Yes. As nearshore IT, banking and fintech employers scale agile teams, certified Scrum Masters are in demand across the Dominican Republic. Scrum Master roles average around RD$1.5M a year and rise with seniority into agile project management and coaching roles.

Do I need experience to get CSM certified?

No formal education or work experience is required. CSM is designed for people who are new to Scrum or who want to formalise existing knowledge. You do, however, need to attend an approved course delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer before you can sit the exam.

How long is the CSM certification valid?

CSM is valid for two years. To renew, you earn 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and pay the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee. SEUs can be earned through courses, conferences, coaching, mentoring and self-study.

What is the next step after CSM?

The Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) is the next level in the Scrum Alliance Scrum Master track, covering advanced facilitation and coaching. CSM is the mandatory prerequisite, and A-CSM also expects experience in a Scrum Master role after certifying.

What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

The passing score is 74%, meaning you must answer at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. The course and practice questions are designed to prepare you thoroughly for this threshold.

How many attempts do I get for the CSM exam?

Candidates typically have three attempts to pass the CSM exam within 90 days of completing the course. If you do not pass at first, our trainers help you review weak areas so you are ready for your next attempt.

Is the CSM exam open or closed book?
