    The Practitioner exam has 40 closed-book, scenario-based multiple-choice questions and lasts 60 minutes. The pass mark is 65%, or 26 out of 40, testing how you apply BA techniques to realistic project situations.

    Where can I sit the exams?

    Both exams are delivered online through EXIN's proctored system or at an accredited testing location, and are usually arranged as part of your training package.

    What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

    You can re-sit an EXIN BCS exam; re-sit fees and policy are confirmed at booking. Our trainers, mock questions and first-attempt guidance are designed to help you pass both exams the first time.

    How does the Foundation exam differ from the Practitioner exam?

    Foundation tests knowledge and comprehension across 14 topic areas with single-answer questions. Practitioner tests application and analysis across 7 topic areas with scenario-based questions. Both are 40 questions in 60 minutes.

    Course Content

    Do I need prior experience to follow the course?

    No. The Foundation level assumes no prior business analysis knowledge, so beginners can start comfortably. The programme then builds to practitioner-level application with worked case studies and practice questions.

    What topics does the course cover?

    You cover investigation techniques, strategy analysis, stakeholder management, process and requirements modelling, requirements engineering and business case development, across the Foundation's 14 topic areas and the Practitioner's 7 applied areas.

    What learning materials are provided?

    You receive EXIN BCS aligned courseware, industry case studies, mock exam questions for both levels, and reference to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

    Are practice questions and mock exams included?

    Yes. The programme includes Foundation and Practitioner practice questions and mock exams to help you find weak areas and build exam readiness.

    Will I receive a certificate of completion?

    Yes. You receive a course completion certificate after the training, in addition to the official EXIN BCS certificates you earn by passing each exam.
