Assessment

Is there an exam for the QFD training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case studies and team discussion during the programme.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after finishing the programme. No formal credential is awarded by an external body, as QFD training builds practical skills rather than preparing you for a credential exam.

How is learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply what you learn through practical exercises, building and interpreting a House of Quality from realistic product and service scenarios throughout the day.

Is QFD a certification?

No. QFD is a methodology, not a certification, and there is no governing body or exam for this training. It focuses on the practical tools to translate customer requirements into design specifications.

Will QFD skills help in Six Sigma projects?

Yes. QFD is a core tool in Design for Six Sigma (DMADV Measure phase) and in the DMAIC Define phase, where it translates the Voice of the Customer into CTQs. The course shows how to apply it within both.

Course Content

What topics does the QFD course cover?

The programme covers QFD foundations and the business case, capturing the Voice of the Customer with affinity diagrams and the Kano model, building all six rooms of the House of Quality, interpreting it for design priorities, cascading QFD through four phases, and applying QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and services.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. It links customer requirements to engineering characteristics, scores their relationships, flags design conflicts in the correlation roof, benchmarks competitors and sets engineering targets, all anchored to customer priorities.

What are the four phases of QFD?

The four-phase QFD system cascades customer requirements through Product Planning (the House of Quality), Parts Deployment, Process Planning and Production Planning, creating a traceable link from each customer need to the controls that deliver it.

How long is the training?

The course is delivered in one day (8 hours), or as two half-day sessions, covering all QFD modules with hands-on House of Quality exercises throughout. Corporate schedules can be adapted to your team.

Are practical exercises included?

Yes. You build a House of Quality from a realistic product or service scenario, structure the Voice of the Customer, classify requirements with the Kano model and calculate column importance, so you can apply QFD at work straight away.
