Assessment

How is my learning checked during the programme?

Learning is reinforced through hands-on exercises, waste identification activities, manufacturing case examples and group discussion rather than a formal test. You apply each tool to realistic production scenarios as you go, so you leave able to use them at work.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. On completing the one-day programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning, recognising that you have covered the full Lean manufacturing toolkit and completed the practical exercises.

Is this a formal qualification or awarding-body programme?

No. This is practical skills training, not a formal qualification, and there is no external awarding body. The value is in the capability you build and apply immediately on the shop floor, backed by a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

What practical exercises are included?

You take part in a Gemba-based waste walk, value stream data collection, a 5S workplace assessment, kanban quantity calculation, an OEE calculation exercise and standard work observation. These let you apply Lean tools to real production situations during the session.

Do I need to prepare anything before attending?

No preparation is required. It helps to come with examples or challenges from your own production area, as you can relate the tools directly to them, but the trainer provides all materials and guides you through every exercise.

You learn to run waste walks, build value stream maps, apply 5S and visual management, design kanban and pull systems, calculate OEE and target the six big losses, cut changeover with SMED, level production with Heijunka, and lead Kaizen improvements.

The course runs for one day (8 hours) and covers all six modules with concept explanations, real-world manufacturing examples and hands-on exercises. A flexible two half-day format is also available to fit around shift patterns.

Does the course include hands-on practice?

Yes. Hands-on exercises run throughout the day, from waste identification and 5S assessment to kanban sizing and OEE calculation, so you practise each tool rather than only hearing about it. This is what makes the skills stick on the floor.

Is the content suitable for beginners?

Yes. The course starts with Lean fundamentals and builds up tool by tool, so beginners and experienced staff both gain value. It works especially well when a cross-functional team learns together and shares a common Lean vocabulary.
