    Your Senegal Career Transformation

From Where You Stand to Where RMP Takes You

    Your Career Transformation

Senegal's project economy is expanding with oil and gas, LNG, power and infrastructure investment, and employers increasingly separate certified risk leaders from the rest. Here is which side of that line you want to be on.

How to Get PMI-RMP Certified in SenegalStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMI-RMP certification path in Senegal is a pure exam track: once your PMI application is approved, you proceed directly to the 115-question, 150-minute exam administered through Pearson VUE , no peer-panel review is required. From initial training to exam day typically takes 6-10 weeks, including application processing.

    Step 1: Confirm PMI-RMP Eligibility

Verify you meet one of the three eligibility sets. Set A: high school or secondary school diploma (or global equivalent) + 36 months / 3 years of project risk management experience within the last 5 years + 40 hours of project risk management education. Set B: bachelor's degree or higher (or global equivalent) + 24 months / 2 years of project risk management experience within the last 5 years + 30 hours of project risk management education. Set C: bachelor's degree or higher from a GAC-accredited program + 12 months / 1 year of project risk management experience within the past 5 years + 30 hours of project risk management education. Education hours must be in project risk management topics specifically.

Step 2: Enroll in a Learning Program

Choose a learning format that aligns with your schedule and goals, such as a PMI-RMP bootcamp, live virtual sessions, self-paced learning, or corporate group training. Enrollment provides access to PMI-aligned courseware, practice assessments, and expert-led guidance.

Step 3: Register on the PMI Candidate Portal

Create or sign in to your PMI account at pmi.org. PMI membership (~$139/year) is optional but reduces the PMI-RMP exam fee from ~$670 to ~$520 and gives access to the PMI Risk Management Practice Guide and the PMI Standard for Risk Management.

Step 4: Submit the PMI-RMP Application to PMI

Submit your application via the PMI candidate portal: document your project risk management experience, list your 30 or 40 contact hours, and pay the application/exam fee (~$520 PMI member or ~$670 non-member). PMI typically processes applications within 5-10 business days. Unlike PfMP, no peer-panel review is required.

Step 5: Sit the 115-Question PMI-RMP Exam via Pearson VUE

Once approved, you receive a one-year exam eligibility window. Book your PMI-RMP exam through Pearson VUE , online proctored from your home or office in Senegal, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The exam is 115 multiple-choice and scenario questions over 150 minutes, covering all five risk management domains.

Step 6: Earn the PMI-RMP Credential and Plan CCR Renewal

On passing, PMI issues your PMI-RMP digital badge and certificate. The credential is valid for three years; renew via PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) programme by earning 30 PDUs in risk-relevant content across the 3-year cycle.

Skills You Will Build Across the Five Risk DomainsFrom Strategy to Monitoring

In this PMI-RMP training you will learn to plan, identify, analyse, respond to and monitor project risk across predictive, agile and hybrid environments, mapped to the five domains of the January 2022 ECO. By the end you can lead risk on complex projects with a repeatable, PMI-aligned method.

Build a Risk Strategy and Management Plan

Set the risk approach for a project or programme: analyse documents, assess the environment with SWOT and PESTLE, confirm risk thresholds, and document a tailored risk management plan aligned to predictive, agile or hybrid delivery.

    Identify Threats and Opportunities Early

Facilitate structured risk identification using brainstorming, the Delphi technique, interviews and checklist and assumption analysis. Record clear cause-risk-effect entries in a risk register and validate it for completeness with stakeholders.

    Run Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis

Prioritise risks with a probability and impact matrix, then apply quantitative techniques such as Monte Carlo simulation, decision tree analysis, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value to model the effect of risk on cost and schedule.

    Plan and Implement Risk Responses

Develop response strategies for threats (avoid, transfer, mitigate, accept) and opportunities (exploit, share, enhance, accept), assign owners, set triggers and contingency plans, and build responses and reserves into the project plan.

    Monitor, Report and Close Risks

Track residual and secondary risks, watch trigger conditions, run periodic risk reviews and produce clear risk status reports for stakeholders and governance bodies, then formally close risks and capture lessons learned at closure.

Apply Risk Tools in Agile and Hybrid Projects

Adapt the five-domain method to agile and hybrid environments as reflected in the January 2022 ECO, and prepare for the 115-question, 2.5-hour exam with practice aligned to the current outline.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises expertise in identifying, analysing and responding to project risks. It suits risk managers, project and programme managers, PMO analysts and consultants, and is valued across Senegal's energy, oil and gas, banking and infrastructure sectors.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises expertise in identifying, analysing and responding to project risks. It suits risk managers, project and programme managers, PMO analysts and consultants, and is valued across Senegal's energy, oil and gas, banking and infrastructure sectors.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Senegal?

Yes. As Senegal invests in oil and gas, LNG, power and infrastructure, employers increasingly want people who can govern risk formally. The RMP opens senior risk roles from Project Risk Manager to Head of Risk and helps you stand out from general project managers.

Is a PMP required before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. PMP certification is not a prerequisite for the RMP. You can apply directly based on your project risk management experience and education, though many holders also carry the PMP because the two credentials are complementary.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how is it renewed?

The RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 professional development units (PDUs) in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle and pay the renewal fee.

Which standard is the PMI-RMP based on?

The RMP is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, and draws on the PMBOK Guide and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management. It covers five risk domains across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access and application guidance. The PMI exam fee is billed separately. Request a quote to see current inclusions and prices for Senegal.

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Senegal?

Training fees in Senegal are quoted in FCFA and vary by format, so pricing is available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing. Talk to a learning advisor for a tailored quote.

How much is the PMI-RMP exam fee?

For reference, PMI charges around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members, and prices can vary by region. PMI individual membership is around USD 139 per year and can lower the exam cost. Confirm current fees at pmi.org.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, delivery teams and business units. Ask about corporate and group pricing for your team in Senegal.

What payment methods and instalment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the PMI-RMP exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams, simulator and trainer support are designed to help you pass on your first attempt.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The RMP exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book and uses multiple-choice question formats, including single-answer and multiple-answer questions.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains in the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam?

You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring system or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE within your one-year eligibility window.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to take this training?

Anyone can join the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and risk education. This programme provides 32 contact hours and support to document your experience, so it works well for professionals moving into a specialist risk role.
