Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification training in Guyana gives you a Scrum Alliance credential that validates your grasp of the Scrum framework, the Scrum Master role, and the values that make agile teams effective. Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The CSM is Scrum Alliance's entry-level Scrum Master certification. It validates your understanding of the Scrum framework, the Scrum Master role, and the values and practices that make Scrum teams effective, and it is the most widely recognised Scrum Master credential globally.

    General

What is the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification?

The CSM is Scrum Alliance's entry-level Scrum Master certification. It validates your understanding of the Scrum framework, the Scrum Master role, and the values and practices that make Scrum teams effective, and it is the most widely recognised Scrum Master credential globally.

Who should take the CSM certification in Guyana?

The CSM suits aspiring Scrum Masters, developers, testers and business analysts formalising their Scrum knowledge, and project managers moving into agile delivery. In Guyana it fits professionals joining teams in oil services, banking, telecoms, government and BPO.

Is the CSM worth it for professionals in Guyana?

Yes. As oil-funded digital transformation drives agile adoption across Guyana, certified Scrum Masters are scarce and sought after. The credential is globally recognised, opens Scrum Master and delivery roles, and is a strong first step in an agile career.

Which body awards the CSM credential?

The CSM is awarded by Scrum Alliance, the certifying body for the credential. Courses must be delivered by a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), and the exam is taken online through the Scrum Alliance member portal.

How long is the CSM certification valid?

The CSM is valid for two years. To renew, you earn 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) within each two-year cycle and pay the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee.

Which standard is the CSM based on?

The CSM is aligned to the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives and the current Scrum Guide, the November 2020 edition by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland, which introduced the Product Goal and the three commitments.

    Pricing

How much does CSM training cost in Guyana?

CSM training fees vary by format and provider, and the exact price is available on request. The fee typically bundles the Scrum Alliance online exam and two-year membership. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote for your preferred batch.

What is included in the CSM course fee?

The fee usually includes Scrum Alliance aligned courseware, a Certified Scrum Trainer-led course, case studies, practice questions, the CSM online exam, and a two-year Scrum Alliance membership on passing. Ask us for the exact inclusions of your plan.

Is the Scrum Alliance exam fee included in the training?

For CSM, the online exam fee is typically included in the course fee paid to the training organisation, as the exam is unlocked on completing an approved course. Confirm this with your advisor when you request a quote.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing in Guyana?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments across Guyana. Request a group quote and we will tailor the delivery to your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the CSM exam?

The CSM exam has 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 60 minutes. It is open book and taken online through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you complete an approved course, with no proctor required.

What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

The passing score is 74 percent, which means answering at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. The exam tests knowledge and comprehension of the Scrum framework across the CSM Learning Objectives.

How many attempts do I get for the CSM exam?

Candidates typically have three attempts to pass the CSM exam within 90 days of completing the course. The first attempts are included, and the exam is accessed through your Scrum Alliance member account.

Do I need to attend a course before the CSM exam?

Yes. Attendance at an approved CSM course delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) is mandatory. The Scrum Alliance online exam cannot be accessed until you complete the course, which unlocks the exam for 90 days.

Which edition of the Scrum Guide does the exam align to?

The exam aligns to the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives and the current Scrum Guide, the November 2020 edition. Your courseware reflects this edition, including the Product Goal, Sprint Goal and Definition of Done as commitments.

    Course Content

What topics does the CSM training cover?

The training covers six areas from the CSM Learning Objectives: Scrum theory and principles, the five Scrum values, the Scrum Team, the Scrum events, the Scrum artifacts, and the Scrum Master role, plus servant leadership and facilitation.

Do I need prior experience to take the CSM course?

No. There is no formal education or work-experience requirement, and the course is beginner friendly. It suits both newcomers to Scrum and practitioners who want to formalise existing knowledge with a recognised credential.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive Scrum Alliance aligned courseware, industry case studies on facilitation, coaching and impediment removal, practice questions mapped to the exam format, and reference to the current Scrum Guide.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest Scrum Guide?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current Scrum Guide, the November 2020 edition, and to the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives, so you learn the framework exactly as the exam tests it.

How long is the training and in what format?

The CSM course runs for 16 hours, usually across two days, and exceeds the Scrum Alliance minimum contact-hour requirement. It is delivered live virtual or in a classroom by a Certified Scrum Trainer.
