What will I learn in Microsoft Project training?

You will learn to build schedules and work breakdown structures, link tasks and read the critical path, assign and level resources, set baselines and track progress, and at the Advanced level manage costs, Earned Value, custom reports and master projects.

What does the Fundamentals level cover?

Fundamentals (2 days) covers project setup and calendars, building the work breakdown structure, task dependencies and the critical path, creating and assigning resources, and setting baselines with progress tracking and built-in reports.

What does the Advanced level cover?

Advanced (3 days) covers advanced scheduling and task types, resource pools and levelling, cost management and Earned Value, custom fields, views and reports, master projects with cross-project links, and what-if scenario planning.

Are the sessions hands-on?

Yes. Both levels are delivered as instructor-led sessions with live Microsoft Project exercises throughout. You follow along in the software using realistic project scenarios, so you build genuine proficiency through practice.

Which version of Microsoft Project does the course use?

The course teaches the current, industry-standard application, available as Project Standard, Project Professional and the cloud-based Project Online within Microsoft 365. Please confirm the exact version and any software access when you enrol.

Can a complete beginner take this course?

Yes. The Fundamentals level has no prerequisites and is designed for people new to Microsoft Project. Basic familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office helps but is not required. For Advanced, prior hands-on experience or Fundamentals is expected.
