Is there an exam for the Primavera P6 training?

Do I receive a certificate after completing the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after finishing the programme. It records your training in Primavera P6; it is not a certification awarded by an external body, as none exists for this software training.

How is my learning checked during the course?

There is no formal test. You build proficiency by working through live P6 exercises alongside the trainer, using realistic construction, engineering or capital-project scenarios, so you practise each skill as you learn it.

Are there prerequisites for the training?

Fundamentals has no formal prerequisites; basic familiarity with project concepts helps but is not required. For Advanced, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Primavera P6 experience.

What will I be able to do after the training?

After Fundamentals you can build a project, schedule it, read the critical path, assign resources, baseline and track progress. After Advanced you can also cost-load, calculate earned value, use Claim Digger, manage multiple projects and build custom reports in P6.

Fundamentals covers the enterprise project structure, activity creation, relationships and the critical path, resources and baselines with progress updating. Advanced covers advanced scheduling, resource and cost loading, earned value management, baseline and Claim Digger analysis, multi-project management and custom reporting.

How long is each level and how many hours is it?

Fundamentals is delivered over 2 days for a total of 16 hours. Advanced is delivered over 3 days for a total of 24 hours. Both are available as full-day or extended half-day formats depending on the schedule.

Is the training hands-on or theory-based?

It is hands-on throughout. The trainer demonstrates each feature and you follow along in Primavera P6, practising on realistic project scenarios so you build genuine, job-ready capability rather than just watching.

Do I need prior scheduling experience to join?

Not for Fundamentals, which is designed for people new to Primavera P6. If you are moving from Microsoft Project or spreadsheets, you will feel at home quickly. Advanced assumes prior P6 experience or completion of Fundamentals.

What materials do I receive with the course?
