    The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 correct answers out of 40. This applies to the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam alike.

    Do I need to pass Foundation before Practitioner?

    The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level. The combined programme is designed to be taken in sequence, with Foundation covered first and Practitioner second.

    Where can I take the BA exams?

    Both exams can be taken online through EXIN's online proctored system, or at an EXIN accredited testing location. They are typically arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the programme.

    What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

    You can re-sit the exam under EXIN's re-examination policy, and our trainers provide guidance to help you prepare for a resit. Confirm the current re-sit fee and policy at the time of your exam.

    What topics are covered in the BA training?

    The Foundation level covers 14 topic areas including investigation techniques, stakeholder analysis, process and requirements modelling, and business case development. The Practitioner level applies these across seven scenario-based topic areas from strategic context to building the business case.

    Do I need prior experience to take this course?

    No prior experience is required for the Foundation level, so beginners are welcome. Some business or IT exposure helps with the Practitioner scenarios, and the training and case studies build the applied confidence you need.
