What Is the Observability Foundation Certification?Your Route into Modern IT Reliability

The Observability Foundation (OBSF) is a vendor-neutral certification from the DevOps Institute that validates your ability to understand a system's internal state from the data it produces. Observability Foundation certification training in Namibia gives IT, DevOps and site reliability professionals the concepts, practices and tools to move from traditional monitoring to full observability across metrics, logs and distributed traces. Grounded in the DevOps Institute Observability Foundation Exam Blueprint (Body of Knowledge), the course covers the three pillars, SLIs, SLOs and error budgets, OpenTelemetry and telemetry pipelines, alerting strategy and the culture that makes observability work. It suits practitioners at Namibian telecoms, banks, insurers and cloud providers who keep digital services running. Whether you are formalising hands-on experience or stepping into an SRE or platform role, the OBSF credential is globally recognised, valid for three years, and a clear signal to employers that you can improve reliability, performance and incident response. Start your observability journey with Invensis Learning.

Invensis Learning is a Peoplecert Accredited Training Organization (2778) in Namibia, approved to deliver official Observability Foundation training using accredited courseware and standards.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Observability Foundation (OBSF) is a DevOps Institute certification that validates a foundational understanding of the concepts, practices and tools needed to implement observability in modern IT. It covers the three pillars of metrics, logs and traces, SLIs, SLOs and observability tooling.

    General

What is the Observability Foundation certification?

The Observability Foundation (OBSF) is a DevOps Institute certification that validates a foundational understanding of the concepts, practices and tools needed to implement observability in modern IT. It covers the three pillars of metrics, logs and traces, SLIs, SLOs and observability tooling.

Is the OBSF certification worth it for professionals in Namibia?

Yes. As Namibian telecoms, banks and cloud providers modernise their systems and work to cut downtime, certified observability and SRE talent is scarce and well paid. OBSF signals that you can improve reliability, opening doors to DevOps, SRE and platform roles. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Who should take the Observability Foundation course?

It suits DevOps engineers, site reliability engineers, platform engineers, developers, IT operations staff and technical managers who want to implement or oversee observability. It is also valuable for anyone moving from traditional monitoring into modern reliability practice.

Who offers the Observability Foundation certification?

The certification is offered by the DevOps Institute, now part of PeopleCert, a globally recognised body advancing DevOps and SRE practices. Invensis Learning is an authorized training provider delivering the aligned course.

How long is the OBSF certification valid?

The Observability Foundation certification is valid for three years. You renew it by earning the required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through DevOps Institute membership and continuing education activities.

Do I need prior experience to take the course?

No formal prerequisites are required. Familiarity with DevOps concepts or IT operations is helpful but not essential, which makes the course accessible to professionals early in their observability journey.

    Pricing

How much does Observability Foundation training cost in Namibia?

Training is priced by format, such as live virtual, classroom or corporate group training, and the exam is billed separately by the DevOps Institute. Pricing is available on request, so request a quote and a learning advisor will help you choose the right option.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes DevOps Institute-aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and mock exams, and first-attempt exam guidance. Verify exam-voucher inclusion when you enrol. Request a quote for a full breakdown.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

Exam voucher inclusion varies by package, so confirm it when you enrol. The DevOps Institute prices the exam in USD, which varies by region and channel. Ask our team what your package includes.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams at telecoms, banks and cloud providers. Contact us for a tailored quote for your team in Namibia.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the OBSF exam?

The Observability Foundation exam is an open-book, single-answer multiple-choice paper based on the DevOps Institute Observability Foundation Exam Blueprint. It is delivered online with remote proctoring through PeopleCert, or taken at an authorized test centre.

How many questions are on the OBSF exam and how long is it?

The exam has 40 multiple-choice questions with a time limit of 60 minutes (one hour). It is open book, using single-answer questions.

What is the passing score for the Observability Foundation exam?

The pass mark is 65 percent, which means answering at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly.

What topics does the exam cover?

The exam is aligned to the Observability Foundation Body of Knowledge, covering observability principles and the three pillars, metrics, logs and distributed tracing, SLIs, SLOs and error budgets, OpenTelemetry and telemetry pipelines, alerting and incident response, and SRE and AIOps.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

You can resit the Observability Foundation exam. Our training includes practice questions, mock exams and first-attempt guidance to prepare you thoroughly. Confirm the current resit policy with the DevOps Institute when you register.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the Observability Foundation course?
