    General

What is the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification and who is it for?

PRINCE2 Practitioner is the advanced credential that validates your ability to apply and tailor the PRINCE2 method to real project scenarios. Governed by AXELOS and awarded by PeopleCert, it sits above PRINCE2 Foundation and is designed for practicing and aspiring project managers who want to run projects using PRINCE2 7.

Is PRINCE2 Practitioner worth it for professionals in Des Moines?

Yes. Des Moines insurance, financial services, healthcare and technology employers run governance-critical programs where a recognized project method is valued. Senior project roles in the metro average well above six figures, and certified, method-fluent managers stand out in a competitive market.

Yes. PRINCE2 is a globally recognized project management qualification delivered by PeopleCert in over 200 countries, including the United States. It is valued by employers running structured, regulated and transformation projects across insurance, finance, healthcare and IT.

How is Practitioner different from PRINCE2 Foundation?

Foundation is a closed-book exam that tests knowledge of PRINCE2 at an awareness level. Practitioner is open book and scenario-based, testing your ability to apply and tailor the method. Practitioner requires PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent, as a prerequisite.

How long is the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification valid?

PRINCE2 Practitioner is valid for three years. You can renew it by retaking and passing the Practitioner exam, completing CPD through a PeopleCert MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher-level PRINCE2 qualification.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 Practitioner training cost in Des Moines?

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across all nine syllabus areas, courseware, scenario practice, mock questions, open-book exam technique coaching, and learner support. Exam vouchers are usually bundled in accredited training packages. Request a quote for full inclusions.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is an open-book, scenario-based objective test. The PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects manual is permitted, and questions require analysis and judgment rather than recall. It is delivered online via PeopleCert OnVUE proctoring or at an authorized test center.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, and you have 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes) to complete it. Questions are scenario-based and drawn from the nine PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus areas.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

Open book means the PRINCE2 7 Managing Successful Projects manual is permitted during the exam. However, questions require scenario-based analysis, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient manual navigation and deep method knowledge are both essential, and our coaching covers both.

What is the passing score for PRINCE2 Practitioner?

The passing score is 60%, which means you must achieve at least 42 out of 70 marks. Our mock questions and scenario practice are designed to build the applied judgment needed to clear this mark comfortably.

What if I do not pass the first time, can I retake it?

Yes, the exam can be resat, and selected training plans include retake support so you can prepare and try again. Our trainers help you target weak syllabus areas before you rebook. Confirm resit terms with your learning advisor.

    Course Content

What syllabus areas does the PRINCE2 Practitioner training cover?

The training covers all nine PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus areas: Principles, Practices, Processes, Key Roles and Responsibilities, People Management and Collaboration, Sustainability and ESG, Digital and Data Management, Effective Communication Methods, and Tailoring PRINCE2 to your needs.

Do I need PRINCE2 Foundation before this course?

Yes. PRINCE2 Foundation is the prerequisite for Practitioner, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A to D. If you do not yet hold Foundation, a learning advisor can help you plan the Foundation-to-Practitioner path.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive PeopleCert-aligned courseware, scenario exercises mapped to the Practitioner exam, mock questions, quizzes, and open-book exam technique guidance for navigating the Managing Successful Projects manual. Materials are designed to build applied, exam-ready capability.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PRINCE2 edition?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) and the PeopleCert PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus, including the People capability, sustainability and digital updates introduced over PRINCE2 6.

Do I need prior experience to benefit from the course?

You need PRINCE2 Foundation knowledge, or an accepted equivalent, before Practitioner training. Beyond that, the course suits both practicing project managers and Foundation holders advancing to the next level. Trainers use realistic scenarios to bridge theory and workplace application.

    Enrollment

How do I enroll in the PRINCE2 Practitioner course?

You can enroll through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you want help picking a batch.
