    General

What is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a globally recognized, two-level qualification covering the knowledge, models and practices needed to manage the people and culture side of organizational change. Foundation validates your understanding of change concepts; Practitioner validates your ability to apply them to real change scenarios. Both are aligned to the CMBoK maintained by the Change Management Institute.

Is the Change Management certification worth it in Des Moines?

Yes. Des Moines is a leading insurance and financial services hub where employers pay a premium for adoption-led change skills. Business Change Manager roles average around $131,800 and senior change roles reach about $159,600, so the credential offers strong return in this market.

Who should take this combined course?

The course suits project and program managers, HR and organizational development professionals, consultants, and leaders who sponsor or support change. Anyone responsible for helping people adopt new ways of working will benefit from the Foundation and Practitioner pathway.

Are there prerequisites for the Foundation level?

No. Change Management Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, regardless of education, experience or prior change knowledge. The Practitioner level requires that you first hold the Foundation certification or an accepted equivalent.

Which body governs the Change Management qualification?

The qualification is underpinned by the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) from the Change Management Institute, in association with the Agile Business Consortium. The course is aligned to the current Change Management Practitioner Guide and the Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi.

    Pricing

How much does Change Management training cost in Des Moines?

Pricing varies by format, schedule and whether you enroll individually or as a team, so exact fees are available on request. The combined program is delivered as 40 hours of training across both levels. Request a quote or talk to a learning advisor for current pricing.

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes CMBoK-aligned courseware, case studies, Foundation and Practitioner practice questions, mock exams, and learner support. Exam vouchers are commonly bundled in provider packages. Contact us to confirm current inclusions for your enrollment.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer installment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?

Our training includes mock exams, practice questions and open-book technique practice to prepare you thoroughly for both levels. Retake terms depend on your plan and voucher, so confirm the current re-sit policy with our team before you book.

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions with a single answer each, is closed book, and lasts 40 minutes. The pass mark is 50 percent, meaning 25 out of 50 correct. It is typically taken at the end of the Foundation portion of the training.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book, using the Change Management Practitioner Guide. It has five scenario-based sections worth 16 marks each, 80 marks in total, over 2.5 hours. The pass mark is 50 percent, meaning 40 out of 80 marks.

How many exams are in the combined program?

Two separate exams. You sit and pass the Foundation exam first, then the Practitioner exam. Both must be passed to hold both credentials, and the combined program prepares you for each in turn.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the exam. However, the scenario-based sections require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient navigation of the guide and solid method knowledge are both essential.

    Course Content

Do I need prior change management experience to start?

No. The course is beginner-friendly and the Foundation level is open to all. It builds from core concepts to applied practice, so you can start even if change management is new to you, with trainer support throughout.

What topics does the course cover?

The syllabus covers five topic areas: change and the individual, change and the organization, communication and stakeholder engagement, change practice, and personal and professional management. Foundation covers them at awareness level; Practitioner at applied level.

What change models will I learn?

You will learn a broad range of models, including ADKAR, Bridges' Transition Model, Lewin's three-step model, Kotter's 8-step model, McKinsey 7-S, Schein's culture model, Goleman's emotional intelligence domains and Cialdini's principles of influence.

Is the courseware aligned to the current syllabus?
