Do I receive anything on completion?

Yes. On completing the programme you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. No external credential or certification is awarded, as this is a practical skills training course.

How long is the training?

The programme is delivered as a focused one-day (eight-hour) session covering all six DMADV phases with hands-on tool exercises. It can also be arranged over two half-days for corporate groups. Confirm the schedule that suits your team when you enquire.

Does the course prepare me for a Six Sigma exam?

No. This is a standalone skills programme, not exam preparation, and no external body governs it. It builds practical DFSS and DMADV capability you apply at work. If you later want exam-based Six Sigma routes, it pairs well with our Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt training.

What topics does the Design for Six Sigma course cover?

It covers DFSS foundations and the DMADV roadmap, the Define phase (VOC and Kano), the Measure phase (CTQ flow-down and QFD), the Analyse phase (concept generation, Pugh matrix and DFMEA), the Design phase (robust design, the P-diagram and DFMA) and the Verify phase (design verification, validation and transfer).

What is DMADV and why does the course focus on it?

DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify) is the most widely used DFSS roadmap for designing new products and processes to Six Sigma quality. The course uses it because it gives engineers a repeatable, structured path from customer need to a verified, production-ready design.

Are there hands-on exercises included?

Yes. You work through practical exercises applying VOC to CTQ flow-down, building a QFD House of Quality, using a Pugh concept selection matrix and completing a Design FMEA, all on realistic product or process design scenarios.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The course assumes no prior DFSS knowledge and introduces every tool from first principles. Design engineers, R&D professionals, quality engineers and newcomers to Six Sigma design can all follow it, with hands-on practice to build confidence.

How does this complement Lean Six Sigma training?
