What Is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner Certification?Your Route to Leading Organisational Change

The Change Management Foundation and Practitioner (CM-F&P) certification is a two-level qualification that validates your ability to manage the people and culture side of organisational change, and Change Management certification training in Tanzania is the most supported route to earning both credentials together. Foundation confirms your knowledge of change concepts and models, while Practitioner proves you can apply them to real organisational change scenarios. The programme is grounded in the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) maintained by the Change Management Institute and the current Change Management Practitioner Guide. It covers established frameworks including ADKAR, Kotter's 8-Step Model, Lewin's model, McKinsey 7-S and Bridges' Transition Model. Foundation is open to everyone with no prerequisites; Practitioner builds on it through scenario-based, open-book assessment. For professionals across Dar es Salaam, Dodoma and Tanzania's fast-reforming banking, mining, telecom and public sectors, the credential turns change from a risk into a managed discipline. Start your change management journey with Invensis Learning and move from study to certified with a clear, supported path.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

It is a two-level change management qualification. Foundation validates your knowledge of change concepts, models and approaches, while Practitioner validates your ability to apply them to real organisational change scenarios. Together they cover the people and culture side of change, grounded in the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).

    General

What is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a two-level change management qualification. Foundation validates your knowledge of change concepts, models and approaches, while Practitioner validates your ability to apply them to real organisational change scenarios. Together they cover the people and culture side of change, grounded in the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).

Who should take this change management course in Tanzania?

It suits HR and OD practitioners, project and programme managers, consultants, and leaders who drive or support organisational change. With digital payments, public reform and telecom modernisation reshaping Tanzania, professionals who can manage adoption and resistance are increasingly in demand.

Is the change management certification recognised in Tanzania?

Yes. The Change Management qualification is recognised internationally in over 150 countries and is valued by employers across banking, mining, telecom, consulting and the public sector, including transformation-heavy organisations operating in Tanzania.

Which standard and body is the certification based on?

The qualification draws on the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) maintained by the Change Management Institute and the current Change Management Practitioner Guide. The syllabi cover established models such as ADKAR, Kotter's 8-Step Model, Lewin's model, McKinsey 7-S and Bridges' Transition Model.

Is this credential worth it for my career in Tanzania?

Yes. Certified change professionals are scarce in Tanzania relative to the deep pool of project talent, so the credential helps you stand out for change manager, transformation and OD roles that command strong management pay bands. Talk to a learning advisor to see how it fits your goals.

Do I need experience or prior qualifications to start?

No. Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. To sit the Practitioner exam you first need to pass Foundation, and the two levels are designed to be taken together in one combined programme.

    Pricing

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across both levels, courseware aligned to the CMBoK and current syllabi, case studies, practice questions and mock exams, first-attempt guidance and learner support. Request a quote for the exact inclusions for your chosen format.

How much does change management training cost in Tanzania?

Pricing varies by delivery format, schedule and group size, so training in Tanzania is quoted on request. Contact us for current pricing and available batches, and ask about corporate or group rates for teams.

Are the two exam fees included in the price?

Exam voucher inclusion varies by package, so confirm at the point of enrolment. The programme leads to two separate exams, Foundation and Practitioner, and you must pass both to hold both credentials. Ask your advisor whether vouchers are bundled with your plan.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for HR, PMO and leadership teams. Contact us for a tailored quote for your organisation in Tanzania.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the payment option that suits you.

    Exam

How many exams are in the combined programme?

Two separate exams. The Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam are sat and passed independently, and you must clear both to hold the Foundation and Practitioner credentials.

What is the Foundation exam format?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 40 minutes. It is closed book with a single-answer format, and the passing score is 50%, which is 25 out of 50 correct.

What is the Practitioner exam format?

The Practitioner exam has 5 scenario-based sections, each worth 16 marks, for 80 marks in total, over 2.5 hours. It is open book, and the passing score is 50%, which is 40 out of 80 marks.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the exam. However, the scenario sections require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep method knowledge are both essential.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the exam you did not pass. Our training includes scenario practice, mock exams and first-attempt guidance to help you prepare thoroughly. Ask your advisor about re-sit support options for your plan.
