Is there an exam for this course?

No. Lean Manufacturing training is a non-certification course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on tool exercises, waste identification activities, manufacturing case examples and team discussion during the day.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after finishing the one-day programme. No formal certification or credential is awarded by an external body, as this is a practical skills course.

How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply Lean tools during the day through hands-on exercises such as a waste walk, value stream data collection, a 5S assessment, an OEE calculation and kanban sizing on realistic scenarios.

How long is the training and what are the hours?

The programme runs for one day, totalling eight hours. It can also be delivered as two extended half-days of four hours each. Both formats cover all six modules with exercises throughout.

What will I be able to do after the course?

What are the eight wastes of Lean?

The eight wastes are Defects, Overproduction, Waiting, Non-utilised talent, Transportation, Inventory, Motion and Extra processing, remembered by the aid DOWNTIME. The course teaches you to spot and remove each one in a production environment.

Are the sessions hands-on?

Yes. Hands-on exercises run throughout the day, including a Gemba-based waste walk, value stream data collection, a 5S workplace assessment, an OEE calculation and kanban quantity sizing on realistic manufacturing scenarios.

Does the course apply outside automotive manufacturing?

Yes. While rooted in manufacturing, the Lean principles and tools apply to food and beverage, steel, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods and other operations. Teams from logistics and service delivery also benefit from the same methods.

What learning materials are provided?

You receive structured courseware covering all six modules, plus reference material on the Lean tools, the waste categories and the improvement templates used in the exercises. Materials support you in applying the tools back at your plant.
