Who should take the RMP certification?

Is a PMP required before the RMP?

No. PMP certification is not a prerequisite for the RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education, though many holders also hold the PMP, as the two credentials are highly complementary.

How long is the RMP certification valid and how is it renewed?

The RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 professional development units (PDUs) in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle and pay PMI's renewal fee.

What is included in the RMP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, application guidance and learner support, plus the risk management education hours you need to apply. The PMI exam fee is billed separately. Request a quote for current pricing in your preferred format.

How much does the RMP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam fee in USD under regional pricing, for reference around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members; confirm the current figure on pmi.org. As the Barbadian dollar is pegged to the US dollar, budgeting is straightforward. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

What is the format of the RMP exam?

The RMP exam is closed book with 115 multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. You have 2.5 hours (150 minutes), and it is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What domains does the RMP exam cover?

The exam covers five domains from the ECO effective January 2022: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%), and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis and reported with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass the RMP exam the first time?

You are allowed up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Our practice questions and mock exams are designed to prepare you thoroughly so you can sit with confidence; re-examination fees apply to later attempts.

What are the eligibility requirements for the RMP?

There are three routes. With a secondary diploma you need 36 months of project risk management experience in the last five years and 40 hours of risk education. With a bachelor's degree you need 24 months of experience and 30 hours of education. The experience must be specifically in project risk management.

Course Content

What will I learn in the RMP training?

You will learn to plan a risk strategy, identify threats and opportunities, run qualitative and quantitative analysis, plan and implement responses, and monitor and close risks. The programme covers tools such as SWOT, the Delphi technique, Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees and expected monetary value.

Which standard and version is the course aligned to?

The course is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, the PMBOK Guide and PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management. It covers risk management in predictive, agile and hybrid project environments.

Does the training satisfy the PMI education requirement?

Yes. The programme provides 30 contact hours of project risk management education, which fully satisfies the education prerequisite for bachelor's-degree applicants. Applicants with only a secondary diploma need 40 hours and should supplement with additional study.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the ECO and the 115-question, closed-book format, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Do I need prior experience to benefit from the training?
