Skills You Will BuildAs a Certified Scrum Product Owner

The CSPO course gives you the Scrum framework from the Product Owner's perspective. By the end, you can define product vision, manage the Product Backlog, and work with stakeholders to maximise the value of the product.

Apply Scrum Theory to Product Decisions

Skills covered in the CSPO course begin with the empirical foundations of Scrum. You learn how transparency, inspection and adaptation, the three pillars, and the Scrum values shape how a Product Owner makes product decisions in complex environments.

    Own the Product Owner Accountability

Understand what makes the Product Owner the single person accountable for maximising product value, how the role differs from project and product management, and how to use decision authority to say yes to value by saying no to noise.

Define Product Vision and the Product Goal

Craft a compelling product vision and set the Product Goal as the commitment of the Product Backlog. Learn roadmap and strategy techniques that connect long-term direction to the work delivered each Sprint.

Manage and Order the Product Backlog

Build, refine and order a Product Backlog that serves as the single source of truth. Write effective user stories, apply INVEST criteria, and use ordering techniques such as MoSCoW and cost of delay to prioritise by value.

Collaborate with Stakeholders to Maximise Value

Identify stakeholders, gather feedback through the Sprint Review and customer discovery, and turn it into backlog updates. Learn to define and measure value while managing competing priorities and expectations.

    Plan Releases and Forecast Delivery

Plan releases in an empirical environment, forecast with velocity, and apply MVP and minimal marketable feature thinking. Communicate scope and timelines to stakeholders with honesty about uncertainty.
