Is there an exam for Lean Manufacturing Training?

No. This is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Lean tool exercises, waste identification activities and team discussion during the programme, rather than a formal test.

Do I get a certificate after the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after completing the programme. This is not a certification from an external awarding body, as Lean Manufacturing training has no formal credential; it confirms you completed the training.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply Lean tools throughout the day: running a waste walk, mapping a value stream, assessing 5S, calculating OEE and sizing kanban, so you practise each skill on realistic plant scenarios.

Is this a certification course?

No. Lean Manufacturing Training is a practical, non-certification skills programme. It builds a comprehensive Lean toolkit you can apply immediately, without an exam or an externally awarded certification.

How long is the training and what is the format?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours), and can also be delivered as two half-days. It combines concept explanation, real manufacturing examples and hands-on exercises, available in classroom, online (live virtual) and corporate onsite formats.

Course Content

What topics does the Lean Manufacturing course cover?

The course covers Lean foundations and the Toyota Production System, the eight wastes (DOWNTIME), value stream mapping, 5S and visual management, pull systems and kanban, JIT, TPM and OEE, standard work, SMED, Heijunka, Poka Yoke and building a Kaizen culture.

What Lean tools will I learn to use?

You will learn to run waste walks, build value stream maps, implement 5S, design kanban pull systems, apply TPM and calculate OEE, write standard work, reduce changeover time with SMED, level production with Heijunka and lead Kaizen and A3 problem solving.

Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. Hands-on exercises run throughout the day, including a Gemba-based waste walk, value stream data collection, a 5S assessment, an OEE calculation and a kanban quantity exercise, so you apply each tool to realistic production scenarios.

What is OEE and will I learn to calculate it?

OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) measures equipment productivity as Availability times Performance times Quality. In the training you learn to calculate OEE, interpret the six big losses and understand why world-class performance sits at or above 85%.

How does this differ from Lean Six Sigma training?

Lean Manufacturing Training focuses on the practical manufacturing Lean toolkit: TPS, the eight wastes, VSM, 5S, kanban, JIT, TPM, OEE, SMED and Heijunka, in one day. Lean Six Sigma adds the Six Sigma DMAIC statistical method in a longer, more advanced programme.
