Skills You Build as a Product OwnerFrom the Scrum Alliance CSPO Course

This program helps you build the practical product ownership skills the Scrum Alliance CSPO Learning Objectives define. By the end, you can set product vision, manage a value-ordered backlog, engage stakeholders and plan releases that deliver value early.

    Product Vision and Product Goal

Skills covered in CSPO start here: craft a compelling product vision and set a Product Goal that aligns the Scrum team and guides every Sprint, using techniques like the product vision board and roadmap.

    Product Backlog Management

Create, refine and order an emergent Product Backlog. Apply INVEST criteria, write effective acceptance criteria and use refinement to keep items ready for Sprint Planning.

    User Stories and Story Mapping

Write user stories from the user's perspective, decompose epics, and use story mapping to visualize and prioritize the work that delivers the most value first.

    Backlog Ordering and Prioritization

Order work by value, risk and dependencies using techniques such as MoSCoW, cost of delay and the Kano model, so the team always builds what matters most next.

    Stakeholder Collaboration and Value

Identify stakeholders, run productive Sprint Reviews and turn feedback into backlog decisions while measuring real business and customer outcomes, not just outputs.

    Release Planning and Forecasting

Plan releases, apply MVP and minimal marketable feature thinking, and use velocity-based forecasting to communicate honest delivery timelines to stakeholders.
