It is designed for aspiring product owners, product managers, business analysts and founders who want to define product vision, manage a backlog and maximize value within a Scrum team.

    General

What is the CSPO certification and who is it for?

The CSPO is Scrum Alliance's entry-level Certified Scrum Product Owner certification, which teaches the Scrum framework from the Product Owner's perspective. It is designed for aspiring product owners, product managers, business analysts and founders who want to define product vision, manage a backlog and maximize value within a Scrum team.

Is the CSPO certification worth it for product owners in New Haven?

Yes. New Haven's health systems, bioscience firms and insurers increasingly run agile product teams, and certified product owners stand out in that market. Certified Scrum Product Owner roles in Connecticut average around $110,000 a year, so the credential supports real career and earning growth.

Do I need prior experience to take CSPO training?

No. The CSPO has no formal education or work experience requirement, so it suits both newcomers to product ownership and those formalizing existing experience. Attending an approved course led by a Certified Scrum Trainer is the only requirement to earn the credential.

    Who awards the CSPO credential?

Scrum Alliance awards the CSPO credential. The certification is granted after you successfully complete an approved CSPO course delivered by a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Trainer, and it is activated through your Scrum Alliance member account.

How long is the CSPO certification valid?

The CSPO is valid for two years from the date of course completion. To keep it active you renew every two years by earning 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and paying the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee.

    Pricing

How much does CSPO training cost in New Haven?

CSPO training fees vary by format, schedule and provider, so the exact price is available on request. Your fee covers the trainer-led course, courseware and the Scrum Alliance certification and membership. Request a quote for current New Haven batch pricing.

What is included in the CSPO course fee?

The fee typically includes live instructor-led training by a Certified Scrum Trainer, Scrum Alliance aligned courseware, learning resources and exercises, the CSPO certification on completion, and a two-year Scrum Alliance membership with a digital badge.

Is the Scrum Alliance membership included in the price?

Yes. A two-year Scrum Alliance membership is included when you complete the approved CSPO course. The membership maintains your active credential and gives you access to your digital badge and Scrum Alliance resources.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts for CSPO training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with tailored schedules and volume-based pricing for product and delivery teams. Contact us for a group quote suited to your organization's size and goals.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer installment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the payment option that suits you.

    Certification

Is there an exam for the CSPO certification?

No. The CSPO has no examination. The credential is awarded by Scrum Alliance once you successfully complete an approved CSPO course delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer, so there is no test to sit afterward.

How do I earn the CSPO credential?

You earn the CSPO by attending and completing an approved Scrum Alliance CSPO course led by a Certified Scrum Trainer. After the course you accept the Scrum Alliance license agreement and code of ethics in your member account to activate the credential.

    Who delivers the CSPO course?

Every approved CSPO course is delivered by a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Trainer (CST). This ensures the training meets the current CSPO Learning Objectives, and self-study without an approved course does not qualify for the credential.

How do I renew my CSPO certification?

Renew the CSPO every two years by earning 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and paying the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee. SEUs can be earned through training, conferences, coaching and other learning activities.

When will I receive my CSPO certification after the course?

Your CSPO is processed through the Scrum Alliance portal after the trainer reports your course completion. Once you log in to your member account and accept the license agreement, your credential and digital badge are activated.

    Course Content

What topics does the CSPO training cover?

The course covers Scrum theory, the Product Owner role and accountabilities, product vision and the Product Goal, Product Backlog management, stakeholder collaboration and value, and release planning and forecasting, all aligned to the current Scrum Guide.

Do I need prior Scrum knowledge to follow the course?

No prior Scrum knowledge is required. The training starts with empirical foundations and the Scrum framework before moving into product ownership practice, with hands-on exercises so beginners and experienced practitioners can both keep up.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive Scrum Alliance aligned courseware, practical exercises, case examples and reference materials covering backlog management, user stories, stakeholder engagement and release planning to support learning during and after the course.

Is the courseware aligned with the current Scrum Guide?

Yes. The courseware follows the current Scrum Alliance CSPO Learning Objectives and is aligned to the November 2020 Scrum Guide, including the Product Goal as the commitment for the Product Backlog.

How is the CSPO training delivered?

The training is delivered live, either as online (live virtual) instructor-led sessions or in a classroom, by a Certified Scrum Trainer. Both formats qualify for the CSPO certification, and corporate teams can choose onsite delivery.

You can enroll through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format and schedule, complete payment, and you will receive joining details, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.
