How to Get PMI-CP Certified in PragueStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMI-CP (PMI Construction Professional) certification path in Prague is a structured single-exam track. You must complete the four-module training, document 3 years of construction or built-environment project experience earned within the past 10 years, then pass the 120-question, 230-minute PMI-CP exam delivered by PMI through Pearson VUE. From initial training to earning the PMI-CP designation typically takes 1-3 months.

Step 1: Confirm You Meet the PMI-CP Eligibility Requirements

Confirm you can document 3 years of on-the-job experience in construction projects or built-environment projects (infrastructure, real estate, utilities, etc.). The experience must have been earned within the past 10 years. There is no foundational PMI credential prerequisite for PMI-CP.

Step 2: Enroll in a Learning Program

Choose a learning format that aligns with your schedule and goals, such as a PMI-CP bootcamp, live virtual training, self-paced learning, or corporate group training. Enrollment provides access to PMI-aligned learning resources, study materials, and expert guidance.

Step 3: Submit Your PMI-CP Application via the PMI Candidate Portal

Create or sign in to your PMI account at pmi.org, complete the PMI-CP application, and document your training (32 contact hours) plus 3 years of construction project experience earned within the past 10 years. PMI membership (~$139/year) is optional but reduces the exam fee.

Step 4: Receive Application Approval and Register for the Exam

PMI reviews your application within ~5 business days. On approval, you receive eligibility to register for the PMI-CP exam through Pearson VUE. Your eligibility window opens for 1 year, during which you can attempt the exam up to 3 times.

    Step 5: Sit the 120-Question, 230-Minute PMI-CP Exam

Book a Pearson VUE slot , online proctored from home or office in Czechia or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The exam includes 120 multiple-choice and scenario questions across the four PMI-CP domains, delivered over 230 minutes. You receive your preliminary result at the end of the session.

Step 6: Earn the PMI-CP Designation and Plan CCR Renewal

After passing the exam, PMI issues your PMI-CP digital badge and certificate. The designation is valid for three years and is renewable via PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) programme by earning PDUs in construction and built-environment-relevant content across the 3-year cycle.

PMI-CP is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry, validating your ability to apply project management skills across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). It is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO).

    General

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) certification?

PMI-CP is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry, validating your ability to apply project management skills across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). It is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO).

Who should take PMI-CP training in Prague?

PMI-CP suits construction project managers, contracts managers, site managers, owner's representatives and PMP holders working in construction. It is ideal for professionals delivering Prague's building, metro, rail and infrastructure projects who want a globally recognised construction credential.

    Is PMI-CP recognised in Czechia?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PMI-CP carries global recognition through PMI's network in over 200 countries. It is valued by Czech and international construction employers and consultancies that want project leaders with proven contract, stakeholder and governance expertise.

Is a PMP required before PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary, as PMP validates broad project management while PMI-CP proves construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can count toward renewal.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Prague?

Training fees vary by format and schedule, so exact pricing is available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Talk to a learning advisor for a tailored quote.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, ECO-aligned practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and the PMI application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. PMI membership reduces the exam fee and gives access to PMI resources. Confirm current exam and membership fees on pmi.org before applying.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction project teams, PMOs and leadership groups in Prague. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you and to ask about corporate or group pricing.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is delivered online with Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, and is based on the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). Questions are distributed across the four construction domains per the ECO, with Contracts Management the largest at 50%.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and weights?

There are four domains per the official ECO: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). The training maps directly to these four domains.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You are permitted up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Our ECO-aligned practice, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you prepare thoroughly and reduce the chance of a resit.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The programme covers all four ECO domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance. It includes contract types, variations, claims and disputes, stakeholder and regulator engagement, scope and risk control, and governance and compliance.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

Before applying, all candidates complete four self-paced modules in any order, each awarding 14 PDUs (56 total): Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. We guide you through completing them.

Does this training meet the PMI-CP education prerequisite?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of project management education PMI requires. Check with our team whether supplementary self-study or pre-reading is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes ECO-aligned practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes that mirror the 120-question, 230-minute format. These help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness across the four domains.

Is the courseware aligned to the current ECO?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the current PMBOK Guide, so you study the construction domains, tasks and enablers exactly as PMI tests them.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-CP?

Anyone can join the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires all four prerequisite modules plus one of three experience sets: a secondary diploma with 60 months construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, all within the past 10 years, plus 35 contact hours of PM education.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment before you book.
