What Is the PMP Credential? The Global Standard for Project Leaders

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is the Project Management Institute's flagship credential for professionals who lead projects and teams, and it is recognised in more than 200 countries as the gold standard of project management certification. PMP certification training in Stuttgart prepares you to earn it and to lead predictive, agile and hybrid delivery with equal confidence. PMI sets the exam, and the updated Examination Content Outline is built on the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition. It spans five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (15 per cent), Predictive Plan Based Methodologies (28 per cent), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (27 per cent), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18 per cent), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12 per cent). You answer 180 questions in 230 minutes, at a Pearson VUE test centre or under OnVUE online proctoring. Stuttgart runs on complex, high stakes programmes, from software defined vehicles and Industry 4.0 rollouts to the Stuttgart 21 rail works, and employers here look for delivery leaders who can prove their competence rather than describe it. Build that proof with Invensis Learning and step into the roles the region is hiring for.

Roles, Demand, and Pay in StuttgartWhy Get PMP Certified?

Certified project leaders in Stuttgart move into roles across automotive, machinery, IT and infrastructure. The region's employers are rebuilding delivery around software defined products, and they need people who can run predictive, agile and hybrid work in the same programme. How to Get PMP Certified in StuttgartStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMP certification path in Stuttgart is designed for experienced project managers. You complete the required 35 contact hours, document your project leadership experience, apply to PMI, prepare with mocks and assessments, and schedule your exam through Pearson VUE. Once you pass, you join the global community of 1.2 million+ PMP-certified professionals.

    Step 1: Eligibility Check

Confirm you meet one of PMI's two pathways: a four-year degree with 36 months of project leadership experience, or a secondary degree with 60 months of experience. Both pathways require 35 hours of project management education.

    Step 2: Enroll

Select the learning format that best suits your schedule and goals, including online, instructor-led, and corporate PMP training for teams. Once enrolled, you gain access to courseware, schedules, and a structured study plan to earn the required 35 contact hours.

    Step 3: Attend Classes

Complete live instructor-led sessions or self-paced learning modules included in your PMP training course online or classroom-based program. Participate in case discussions and cover the PMP syllabus across the People, Process, and Business Environment domains, including predictive, agile, and hybrid project management approaches.

Step 4: Document Experience and Apply to PMI

Document your project leadership experience (36 or 60 months, depending on pathway) and submit your PMP application to PMI. Our team supports you with the application process and experience documentation.

    Step 5: Preparation

Use 1,500+ practice questions, 5 full-length PMP mock exams, 1 Agile model exam, flashcards, and the exam simulator to strengthen weak areas and build speed for the 180-question exam.

Step 6: Schedule and Take the Exam

Once your PMI application is approved, schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE test center or take it online, proctored. Take the 230-minute, 180-question PMP exam covering People, Process, and Business Environment.

Step 7: Pass and Get Certified

After passing, you receive your PMP credential and digital badge, valid for three years. Maintain certification with 60 PDUs across the three-year cycle (35 in Education, 25 in Giving Back).

The Skills You Will BuildPredictive, Agile, and Hybrid Delivery

This programme takes you through all five domains of PMI's updated Examination Content Outline, aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, and turns each one into something you can use on Monday morning. You finish able to plan, forecast, govern and communicate a project in whichever delivery approach it demands.

    Project Fundamentals and Core Concepts

The skills covered in PMP training start here: project life cycles, governance checkpoints, roles, value delivery and PMI's code of ethics. This domain carries 15 per cent of the exam and underpins every other one.

    Predictive, Plan Based Delivery

Build a charter, define scope and a WBS, develop a network diagram and critical path, baseline cost, and control change. You will apply earned value management to forecast where a programme is heading, not just where it has been. This is the largest domain at 28 per cent.

    Agile Frameworks and Methodologies

Run Scrum events and artefacts, manage flow with Kanban and WIP limits, apply Lean and XP practices, and plan releases with story points and velocity. You will read burndown and cumulative flow charts and know when to escalate. Worth 27 per cent of the exam.

    Hybrid Delivery in Practice

Combine plan based and iterative approaches in a single programme, the reality in automotive and machinery work where software sprints meet hardware milestones. You will learn how to choose the development approach a project actually needs.

    Business Analysis and Strategic Alignment

Elicit requirements, write user stories and acceptance criteria, build a business case, and track benefits with KPIs. This domain accounts for 18 per cent of the exam and is what turns a delivery manager into a leader sponsors listen to.

    Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

Map power and interest, tailor engagement to context, resolve conflict, and report through dashboards and information radiators that people actually read. Covers virtual and cross cultural teams, and carries 12 per cent of the exam.

    General

Is the PMP worth it for a project manager in Stuttgart?

Yes, for most experienced project managers it pays for itself. Project managers in Stuttgart average around EUR 63,300 a year, while senior project leaders average around EUR 89,300, and PMP certified project managers in Germany average about EUR 81,000 in base pay. The credential is also frequently listed as preferred in postings across automotive, machinery, IT and infrastructure.

    What is the PMP certification?

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is the Project Management Institute's flagship credential for people who lead projects and teams. It validates competence across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery approaches and is recognised in more than 200 countries.

Who is the governing body for the PMP?

The Project Management Institute (PMI) owns and awards the PMP. PMI publishes the Examination Content Outline, sets eligibility rules, and administers the exam through Pearson VUE.

How long is the PMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMP is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 60 PDUs within each three year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements programme, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area of the PMI Talent Triangle: Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen.

How does the PMP differ from the PMI-ACP?

The PMP covers all delivery approaches, predictive, agile and hybrid, and is the broader senior credential. The PMI-ACP is agile specific and goes deeper into individual agile frameworks. Many professionals in the region hold both.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMP training fee?

The fee covers live instructor-led sessions, PMI aligned courseware built on the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, practice questions and mock exams, an exam simulator, downloadable templates, guidance on your PMI application, and post-training support. Training in Stuttgart is quoted in euros and is available on request. Request a quote to see current pricing.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the course price?

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately through pmi.org, with different rates for members and non-members. PMI membership lowers the exam fee and includes access to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the Agile Practice Guide. Check current rates on pmi.org before you apply.

Do you offer group or corporate rates in Stuttgart?

Yes. We offer group pricing for corporate cohorts, delivered onsite at your Stuttgart location or live online for distributed teams, with schedules built around your release cycles. Ask about corporate pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfer, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Are there extra costs after certification?

Yes, renewal. PMI charges a renewal fee every three years, at a lower rate for members, and you must log 60 PDUs in the same cycle. Verify current renewal fees on pmi.org.

    Exam

What happens if I do not pass the PMP exam first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one year eligibility window, and PMI charges a reexamination fee for the second and third attempts. Your training includes mock exams and an exam simulator so you can identify weak domains before you sit, and you can revisit the sessions on selected plans.

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 180 questions and runs for 230 minutes, which is 3 hours 50 minutes, including two scheduled 10 minute breaks. Question types include multiple choice with single and multiple answers, matching, hotspot, and limited fill in the blank.

What are the PMP exam domains and their weights?

The updated Examination Content Outline, aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition, covers five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (15 per cent), Predictive Plan Based Methodologies (28 per cent), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (27 per cent), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18 per cent), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12 per cent).

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage. The pass mark is set through psychometric analysis, and your result is reported as pass or fail with domain level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. Aim for balanced strength across all five domains.

Where can I sit the PMP exam in Stuttgart?

You can sit it at a Pearson VUE test centre or take it from home or the office through Pearson VUE's OnVUE online proctoring. Both options are booked through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE site once your application is approved.

Which edition of the PMBOK Guide does the exam follow?

The exam is built on the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, and PMI also references the Agile Practice Guide. Our courseware is aligned to that edition and to the current Examination Content Outline.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to join the training?

You can join the training at any stage, and the sessions start from core concepts before moving into the harder domains. To sit the PMI exam, however, you need 36 months of leading projects with a four year degree, or 60 months with a secondary school qualification, plus 35 contact hours of project management education.

What topics does the course cover?

All five domains of the current ECO: fundamentals and core concepts, predictive plan based methods including WBS, critical path and earned value, agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean and XP, business analysis and strategic alignment, and stakeholder engagement and communication.

How much of the course is agile?

A substantial share. Agile Frameworks and Methodologies is a dedicated domain worth 27 per cent of the exam, and hybrid approaches run through the predictive content too. You will work with Scrum events, Kanban flow, story points, velocity and burndown charts.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. You get chapter wise quizzes, a large practice question bank and full length mock exams in the 180 question, 230 minute format, plus an exam simulator so exam day holds no surprises.

Does the training count toward the 35 contact hours PMI requires?

Yes. The programme delivers project management education hours that count toward PMI's 35 contact hour requirement, and you receive a course completion certificate documenting them for your application.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

New cohorts run regularly in live online and classroom formats, so you can usually start within weeks. Choose your format on the Invensis Learning website, complete payment, and you receive your schedule, courseware and learning resources straight away. Talk to a learning advisor if you want help picking a batch.

What training formats are available in Stuttgart?

Online instructor-led training in live virtual classrooms, in-person classroom sessions, and customised corporate training delivered onsite for teams in the Stuttgart region. Blended options combine the two.

Are weekend and weekday batches available?

Yes. We run both weekday and weekend schedules so you can train without disrupting delivery commitments, and sessions are scheduled in your local time zone. See upcoming schedules to find one that fits.

Can I reschedule or move to a different batch?

Yes. You can reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans include a pass to attend the training twice. Contact our support team to arrange it.

Do you help with the PMI application?

Yes. We guide you through documenting your project leadership months and education hours, and explain what PMI expects if your application is selected for audit. That support is included in the programme.
