    What is the format of the two exams?

    The Foundation exam has 40 closed-book, single-answer multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. The Practitioner exam has 40 closed-book, scenario-based multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. Both are delivered online with proctoring or at an EXIN accredited location.

    What is the passing score?

    The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 correct answers out of 40 on each. You must sit and pass both the Foundation and Practitioner exams to hold both credentials.

    Are there prerequisites for the exams?

    The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level, which the combined programme covers first before moving into applied practice.

    What standard are the exams based on?

    Both exams are based on the official EXIN BCS examination specifications and aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge. Foundation covers 14 topic areas at comprehension level, and Practitioner covers seven applied topic areas assessed through scenarios.

    What if I do not pass the first time?

    You can re-sit an exam under EXIN's re-examination policy. Our training includes mock exams and practice questions for both levels to build readiness and reduce the chance of a re-sit. Ask your advisor about retake support options.

    What will I learn in the programme?

    You will learn investigation and requirements elicitation, requirements documentation and management, business process modelling with BPMN, stakeholder analysis, strategy analysis with PESTLE and SWOT, business-case development, and UML requirements modelling, then apply it all in scenarios.

    Do I need prior experience to start?

    No. The programme is beginner-friendly and starts at Foundation level, which needs no prior business analysis experience. It builds step by step to Practitioner level, so both newcomers and experienced staff can follow along.

    How is the training structured and how long is it?

    It is a combined 32-hour instructor-led programme, typically run over four full days, covering Foundation content first and then Practitioner application. Delivery formats include live virtual, classroom and corporate group training.
