    General

Is the Change Management certification worth it in Hong Kong?

Yes. Change management is a core capability across Hong Kong's banking, insurance, consulting and technology sectors, where regulatory and digital transformation is constant. Certified Change Managers earn around HK$680,000 a year on average, and the credential positions you for change, transformation and OD roles that employers increasingly list as essential.

What is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a combined qualification covering the people and culture side of organisational change. The Foundation validates your knowledge of change management concepts and models, while the Practitioner validates your ability to apply them to real organisational change scenarios. Both are aligned to the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).

Who should take this change management course?

It suits change managers, project and programme managers, HR business partners, OD practitioners, consultants and senior leaders sponsoring change. Foundation has no prerequisites and is open to all, so it works for both newcomers and experienced professionals wanting a recognised credential.

    Is the certification recognised internationally?

Yes. The Change Management qualification is recognised in over 150 countries and is well respected across the UK, Europe, Australia, Hong Kong and other markets where change management is an established profession. It is underpinned by the CMBoK from the Change Management Institute.

How does it complement project management credentials?

Change Management covers stakeholder engagement, communication, resistance management and embedding change, which frameworks such as PRINCE2, AgilePM and PMI do not cover in depth. Together they give you a complete toolkit for both the technical and human sides of change.

    Pricing

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes the combined 40-hour instructor-led training, courseware aligned to both syllabi, case studies, mock exams and practice questions, and learner support. Exam

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Change Management Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 40 minutes. It is closed book with a single-answer format, and the pass mark is 50% (25 out of 50 correct). It is usually taken at the end of the Foundation part of the training.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 5 scenario-based sections, each worth 16 marks, for 80 marks total, completed in 2.5 hours. It is open book, with the Change Management Practitioner Guide permitted, and the pass mark is 50% (40 out of 80 marks).

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the exam. However, the scenario-based sections require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep understanding of the models are both essential.

Do I need to pass Foundation before Practitioner?

Yes. Change Management Foundation certification is required before you sit the Practitioner exam, or an accepted equivalent. The combined programme is designed to be taken sequentially, with Foundation covered first and Practitioner after.

What if I do not pass the first time?

The programme includes mock exams, practice questions and technique guidance to help you pass both levels on the first attempt. If a resit is needed, re-sit policies and any fees vary, so confirm the details with our team before you enrol.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. Change Management Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, regardless of experience. The programme builds from core concepts at Foundation level to applied, scenario-based practice at Practitioner level, with trainer support throughout.

What topics does the syllabus cover?

The syllabus covers five topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organization, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation covers them at knowledge level and Practitioner at application level.

Which change management models are covered?

You study a broad range of models, including ADKAR, Bridges' Transition Model, Lewin's Three-Step Model, Kotter's 8-Step Model, McKinsey 7-S, Schein's culture model, Goleman's emotional intelligence and Cialdini's six principles of influence.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive courseware aligned to both exam syllabi and the CMBoK, industry-driven case studies, mock exams, and practice questions for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, along with guidance on open-book exam technique.

How long is the training programme?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is delivered as 40 hours of instructor-led training. The number of days depends on the schedule format, whether full-day intensive or extended half-day sessions, so you can choose what fits your availability.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?
