What is Lean Manufacturing Training?

Is Lean manufacturing training worth it for professionals in Israel?

Do I need prior Lean experience to join?

No. The programme introduces Lean manufacturing from first principles, so no prior Lean knowledge is required. Some manufacturing or production experience is helpful but not essential.

What framework is the training based on?

The training is grounded in Lean manufacturing and the Toyota Production System (TPS) developed at Toyota by Taiichi Ohno and Shigeo Shingo. It covers the five Lean principles, the eight wastes (DOWNTIME), VSM, 5S, kanban, JIT, TPM, standard work, SMED and Kaizen.

Assessment

Is there an exam for Lean Manufacturing Training?

No. This is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Lean tool exercises, waste identification activities and case discussion during the one-day programme.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This recognises that you completed the programme; it is a practical skills course rather than a formal certification with an awarding body.

How is learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. You apply Lean tools through practical exercises such as waste walks, value stream mapping, 5S assessment, OEE calculation and kanban design to realistic manufacturing scenarios.

Will this qualify me for a Lean certification?

This is a foundational skills course rather than a certification. It is a strong base for further Lean study such as value stream mapping, Kaizen or Lean Six Sigma programmes if you later choose a certified pathway.

How long is the training and what does it cover?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours) and covers Lean foundations and TPS, the eight wastes, VSM, 5S, pull systems and kanban, JIT, TPM and OEE, standard work, SMED, Heijunka, poka yoke and building a Lean culture.

Course Content

What will I learn in Lean Manufacturing Training?

You learn to identify and eliminate the eight wastes, map value streams, apply 5S and visual management, design kanban pull systems, calculate OEE, write standard work, reduce changeover time with SMED and lead Kaizen improvement.

What modules does the course include?

Six modules: Lean foundations and the TPS; identifying and eliminating the eight wastes; value stream mapping; 5S and visual management; pull systems, kanban, JIT and TPM; and standard work, SMED, Heijunka and Lean culture.

Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. The day includes practical exercises: Gemba waste walks, VSM data collection, 5S workplace assessment, OEE calculation, kanban quantity calculation and standard work observation, so you practise the tools as you learn them.

Does the course apply outside manufacturing?

While focused on manufacturing, the principles and many tools such as 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping and waste elimination apply to logistics, healthcare operations and other production or service environments.

What materials are provided?

You receive structured courseware, reference guides and Lean tool templates you can take back to the shop floor, along with the exercises and case examples used during the programme.
