How long is the Lean Manufacturing training?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours), covering Lean foundations through the eight wastes, VSM, 5S, pull systems, JIT, TPM and OEE, standard work, SMED, Heijunka and Kaizen, with hands-on exercises throughout. A two half-day format is also available.

Assessment

Is there an exam for Lean Manufacturing training?

No. This is a non-certification course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Lean tool exercises, waste identification activities, case examples and team discussion during the programme.

Do I receive a certificate after completing the training?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. No formal certification or credential is awarded by an external body, as this is a practical skills programme rather than an accredited certification.

How is learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, hands-on exercises such as waste walks, value stream mapping, 5S assessment, OEE calculation and kanban sizing let you apply each Lean tool to realistic manufacturing scenarios during the day.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to identify the eight wastes, read and build a value stream map, set up 5S, design a kanban pull system, calculate OEE, write standard work, apply SMED and lead Kaizen improvements on the shop floor.

Is Lean Manufacturing training the same as Lean Six Sigma?

No. Lean Manufacturing focuses on the full Lean toolkit for waste elimination and flow. Lean Six Sigma combines Lean with the Six Sigma DMAIC statistical method and often leads to a belt certification. Lean Manufacturing is the focused, practical shop-floor course.

What topics does the Lean Manufacturing training cover?

The programme covers the Toyota Production System and five Lean principles, the eight wastes (DOWNTIME), value stream mapping, 5S and visual management, pull systems and Kanban, JIT, TPM and OEE, standard work, SMED, Heijunka, Poka Yoke and building a Lean culture.

Exercises run throughout the day, including a Gemba-based waste walk, value stream data collection, a 5S workplace assessment, an OEE calculation, kanban quantity sizing and standard work observation, so you practise each tool on realistic scenarios.
