How to Get PMI-CP Certified in LithuaniaStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMI-CP (PMI Construction Professional) certification path in Lithuania is a structured single-exam track. You must complete the four-module training, document 3 years of construction or built-environment project experience earned within the past 10 years, then pass the 120-question, 230-minute PMI-CP exam delivered by PMI through Pearson VUE. From initial training to earning the PMI-CP designation typically takes 1-3 months.

Step 1: Confirm You Meet the PMI-CP Eligibility Requirements

Confirm you can document 3 years of on-the-job experience in construction projects or built-environment projects (infrastructure, real estate, utilities, etc.). The experience must have been earned within the past 10 years. There is no foundational PMI credential prerequisite for PMI-CP.

Step 2: Enroll in a Learning Program

Choose a learning format that aligns with your schedule and goals, such as a PMI-CP bootcamp, live virtual training, self-paced learning, or corporate group training. Enrollment provides access to PMI-aligned learning resources, study materials, and expert guidance.

Step 3: Submit Your PMI-CP Application via the PMI Candidate Portal

Create or sign in to your PMI account at pmi.org, complete the PMI-CP application, and document your training (32 contact hours) plus 3 years of construction project experience earned within the past 10 years. PMI membership (~$139/year) is optional but reduces the exam fee.

Step 4: Receive Application Approval and Register for the Exam

PMI reviews your application within ~5 business days. On approval, you receive eligibility to register for the PMI-CP exam through Pearson VUE. Your eligibility window opens for 1 year, during which you can attempt the exam up to 3 times.

    Step 5: Sit the 120-Question, 230-Minute PMI-CP Exam

Book a Pearson VUE slot , online proctored from home or office in Lithuania or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The exam includes 120 multiple-choice and scenario questions across the four PMI-CP domains, delivered over 230 minutes. You receive your preliminary result at the end of the session.

Step 6: Earn the PMI-CP Designation and Plan CCR Renewal

After passing the exam, PMI issues your PMI-CP digital badge and certificate. The designation is valid for three years and is renewable via PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) programme by earning PDUs in construction and built-environment-relevant content across the 3-year cycle.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PMI-CP is the Project Management Institute's specialist certification for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management skills in a construction environment across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%), and Project Governance (5%).

    General

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) certification?

PMI-CP is the Project Management Institute's specialist certification for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management skills in a construction environment across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%), and Project Governance (5%).

Who should take PMI-CP certification training in Lithuania?

PMI-CP suits construction project managers, site managers, project engineers, owner's representatives and construction consultants who want a globally recognised construction project management credential. It is ideal for professionals working on Lithuania's transport, energy, defence and building projects.

Is the PMI-CP recognised in Lithuania?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PMI-CP carries recognition through PMI's network in over 200 countries. It is valued by Lithuanian contractors and international employers delivering complex construction and infrastructure programmes such as Rail Baltica.

    Is PMP required before PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary, as PMP covers general project management while PMI-CP validates construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

PMI-CP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements programme, with at least 8 PDUs in each Talent Triangle area.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-CP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions and mock assessments, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and the PMI application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Request a quote for the current inclusions.

How much does the PMI-CP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. For reference, it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members, and PMI membership is about USD 139 per year. Verify current fees at pmi.org before applying.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. The PMI-CP exam fee is paid separately to PMI and is not part of the training fee. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost and gives access to PMI resources. Talk to a learning advisor about how the training and exam costs fit together.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts for PMI-CP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction teams, project offices and leadership groups. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions to be completed in 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). It is closed book with multiple-choice questions, delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

There are four domains per the official ECO: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%), and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is the largest, reflecting the centrality of contracts in construction delivery.

What standard is the PMI-CP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO), together with the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and construction industry-specific standards and practices. Our courseware is mapped to the current ECO and the 8th edition.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-CP exam?

You must complete all four mandatory self-paced modules, plus one of three experience sets: Set A (secondary diploma, 60 months construction PM experience), Set B (bachelor's degree, 36 months), or Set C (GAC-accredited degree, 24 months). All sets require 35 contact hours of PM education.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

What happens if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You get up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our practice questions and mock assessments are designed to help you prepare thoroughly for your first sitting.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers all four PMI-CP domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance. It also addresses claims and disputes, risk and insurance, plus exam strategy and application guidance.

Does the training help with the four prerequisite modules?

Yes. You receive guidance on completing the four mandatory self-paced modules (Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management), which together award 56 PDUs and are required before you apply.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and mock assessments mapped to the 120-question, 230-minute PMI-CP format, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned, which count toward the 35 contact hours of PM education needed for PMI-CP eligibility.
