How to Get PMI-CP Certified in LuxembourgStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMI-CP (PMI Construction Professional) certification path in Luxembourg is a structured single-exam track. You must complete the four-module training, document 3 years of construction or built-environment project experience earned within the past 10 years, then pass the 120-question, 230-minute PMI-CP exam delivered by PMI through Pearson VUE. From initial training to earning the PMI-CP designation typically takes 1-3 months.

Step 1: Confirm You Meet the PMI-CP Eligibility Requirements

Confirm you can document 3 years of on-the-job experience in construction projects or built-environment projects (infrastructure, real estate, utilities, etc.). The experience must have been earned within the past 10 years. There is no foundational PMI credential prerequisite for PMI-CP.

Step 2: Enroll in a Learning Program

Choose a learning format that aligns with your schedule and goals, such as a PMI-CP bootcamp, live virtual training, self-paced learning, or corporate group training. Enrollment provides access to PMI-aligned learning resources, study materials, and expert guidance.

Step 3: Submit Your PMI-CP Application via the PMI Candidate Portal

Create or sign in to your PMI account at pmi.org, complete the PMI-CP application, and document your training (32 contact hours) plus 3 years of construction project experience earned within the past 10 years. PMI membership (~$139/year) is optional but reduces the exam fee.

Step 4: Receive Application Approval and Register for the Exam

PMI reviews your application within ~5 business days. On approval, you receive eligibility to register for the PMI-CP exam through Pearson VUE. Your eligibility window opens for 1 year, during which you can attempt the exam up to 3 times.

    Step 5: Sit the 120-Question, 230-Minute PMI-CP Exam

Book a Pearson VUE slot , online proctored from home or office in Luxembourg or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The exam includes 120 multiple-choice and scenario questions across the four PMI-CP domains, delivered over 230 minutes. You receive your preliminary result at the end of the session.

Step 6: Earn the PMI-CP Designation and Plan CCR Renewal

After passing the exam, PMI issues your PMI-CP digital badge and certificate. The designation is valid for three years and is renewable via PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) programme by earning PDUs in construction and built-environment-relevant content across the 3-year cycle.

    General

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) and who is it for?

The PMI-CP is PMI's specialist credential for construction project management. It proves you can apply project management across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). It suits construction PMs, site managers and quantity surveyors.

Is the PMI-CP recognised in Luxembourg?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-CP carries global recognition through PMI's network in over 200 countries and is valued by Luxembourg contractors, engineering consultancies and public works organisations that deliver complex housing and infrastructure projects.

Is the PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Luxembourg?

Yes. Construction is on Luxembourg's 2026 shortage occupation list, and construction project managers average around EUR 93,753 a year, with contracts and infrastructure roles higher. A recognised construction credential helps you stand out for these roles. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Is the PMP required before the PMI-CP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two are complementary, with the PMP covering general project management and the PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

The PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Luxembourg?

PMI-CP training fees in Luxembourg vary by format and schedule and are available on request. The fee typically covers PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams and learner support. The PMI exam fee is billed separately. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions and mock exams, guidance on the four prerequisite modules, PMI application support, learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee separately under regional pricing, in USD for reference around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members. PMI membership can reduce the exam fee. Confirm current fees on the PMI store before applying.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts for PMI-CP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction and engineering teams. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and you have 230 minutes, that is 3 hours 50 minutes, to complete it. It is closed book, with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

There are four domains per the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is the largest, reflecting its centrality to construction delivery.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

Where can I take the PMI-CP exam?

You can sit the PMI-CP exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal within your one-year eligibility period.

What if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam the first time?

You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts on the PMI store.

    Course Content

What does the PMI-CP training cover?

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course in Luxembourg?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, classroom training and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and site commitments.

Can I take this if I do not hold the PMP?

Yes. The PMP is not required to enrol or to earn the PMI-CP. Anyone can take the training; to sit the exam you must complete the four prerequisite modules and meet PMI's construction experience and education requirements.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.
