Do I need prior scheduling experience to start?

No. The Fundamentals level has no prerequisites and is designed for people new to Primavera P6. Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. On completing each level you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. This is skills training rather than a certification programme, so there is no external awarding body or credential, but the completion record confirms the practical training you have finished.

Do I need to buy the Oracle Primavera P6 software separately?

Assessment

Is there an exam for the Primavera P6 Training?

No. Neither the Fundamentals nor the Advanced level includes an examination. This is non-certification skills training, and learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Primavera P6 exercises throughout each level rather than a test.

Do I get a certification from Oracle or a governing body?

No external certification or credential is awarded, and there is no governing body for this training. On completing each level you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning that confirms the practical P6 skills training you have finished.

How is learning assessed during the course?

Learning is built through practice, not formal assessment. You follow along in P6 as the trainer demonstrates each feature, then complete hands-on exercises using realistic construction and energy scenarios, so you leave able to apply the skills on real projects.

Should I take the Fundamentals or Advanced level?

Take Fundamentals if you are new to Primavera P6 or use it occasionally and want a solid scheduling foundation. Take Advanced if you already use P6 and want to master resource and cost loading, earned value management, Claim Digger, multi-project control and custom reporting. You can attend either level or both in sequence.

Which Primavera P6 skills will I be able to apply at work?

You will be able to build the project structure, create and sequence activities, analyse the critical path and float, set baselines, resource-load and cost-load schedules, calculate earned value, and produce layouts and reports, all skills you can apply immediately on capital projects.

Course Content

What topics does the Fundamentals level cover?

Fundamentals covers the P6 enterprise project structure, creating a project, activity types and calendars, relationships and the scheduler, critical path and float, resource creation and assignment, setting the baseline, updating progress, and basic layouts and reports.

What does the Advanced level cover?

Advanced covers advanced scheduling options, DCMA schedule quality checks, resource and cost loading with cost accounts, earned value management, baseline management and Claim Digger, variance analysis, multi-project and enterprise portfolio management, and custom reporting with Excel integration.

How long is each level of the training?

The Fundamentals level runs for two days, a total of 16 hours. The Advanced level runs for three days, a total of 24 hours. Both are available as full-day sessions or extended half-day formats. Verify the current schedule when you enrol.

Do I need Primavera P6 installed before attending?

Yes. You should have Oracle Primavera P6, either the P6 Professional client or P6 EPPM web access, installed and available so you can complete the hands-on exercises. Check whether a training environment is provided or arrange your own access before the sessions.

Are the sessions hands-on?

Yes. Both levels are practical and software-focused. You work in P6 alongside the trainer through every feature and workflow, using realistic construction, engineering and capital project scenarios so you build genuine proficiency through practice.
