Change management certification training in Portugal gives you a globally respected route into the people side of organisational change. The Change Management Foundation and Practitioner (CM-F&P) certification is a two-level qualification that proves you can plan, lead and embed change using established models rather than guesswork. Foundation validates your knowledge of change concepts, while Practitioner proves you can apply them to real organisational scenarios. Built on the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) from the Change Management Institute and the current Change Management Practitioner Guide, the credential is recognised across consulting, banking, technology and public-sector employers in Lisbon, Porto and beyond. The programme suits HR business partners, project and programme managers, organisational development practitioners, consultants and leaders who want a structured, model-based approach to change. You learn how individuals experience change, how organisations transform, how to engage stakeholders, and how to plan and sustain change so that adoption actually sticks. With Portugal now a leading global business services destination and multinationals scaling their Lisbon and Porto hubs, certified change professionals are in growing demand. Start your Foundation and Practitioner journey with Invensis Learning and move from learning to certified with a clear, supported path.

Is the change management certification worth it in Portugal?

Yes. Change management is a distinct, in-demand skill across Portugal, with strong demand in consulting, banking, technology hubs and pharma. The Foundation and Practitioner credential proves you can drive adoption, and change specialist roles in Lisbon average around EUR 46,929 with senior roles far higher.

What is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification?

The Change Management Foundation and Practitioner (CM-F&P) is a two-level qualification covering the people and culture side of organisational change. Foundation validates your knowledge of change concepts and models, while Practitioner proves you can apply them to real organisational scenarios.

It suits HR business partners, project and programme managers, organisational development practitioners, consultants and leaders who drive or support change. There are no formal prerequisites for Foundation, so it is open to professionals at any career stage.

Which standard is the certification based on?

The training is built on the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) from the Change Management Institute and the current Change Management Practitioner Guide, covering models such as ADKAR, Kotter, Lewin, Bridges, McKinsey 7-S and Schein.

Is the change management qualification recognised internationally?

Yes. It is recognised in over 150 countries and is especially well respected across the UK, Europe and markets where change management is an established profession, including the multinationals operating in Lisbon and Porto.

    Exam

How many exams are there and what are the formats?

There are two separate exams. Foundation is 50 multiple-choice questions in 40 minutes, closed book. Practitioner is a 2.5-hour, open-book, scenario-based paper of 5 sections worth 16 marks each. You must pass both to hold both credentials.

What are the passing scores for the two exams?

Both exams require 50% to pass. Foundation needs 25 out of 50 questions correct. Practitioner needs 40 out of 80 marks, spread across the 5 scenario-based sections.

Do I need Foundation before taking the Practitioner exam?

Yes. Change Management Foundation certification is required before the Practitioner exam. The combined programme runs both levels in sequence, with Foundation covered first, then Practitioner.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the Practitioner exam. However, the scenario-based sections need analysis and judgement, so deep method knowledge and efficient guide navigation both matter. You cannot simply look up answers.

What happens if I do not pass an exam first time?

You can re-sit either exam. Our training includes first-attempt guidance, mock exams and scenario practice to help you prepare thoroughly. Confirm the current re-sit policy and any fees with our team before you book.
