The Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner (BA F&P) course is a combined certification programme that takes you from foundational business analysis knowledge to the applied techniques a practising analyst uses on real projects. This Business Analysis certification training in Singapore is governed by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and is aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BCS BoK) and the EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner Examination Specifications. Both credentials are for lifetime, with no renewal required. Whether you are entering business analysis, moving across from IT or project delivery, or formalising years of hands-on experience, the programme gives you two internationally recognised credentials and a clear, supported path to certified. General

What is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

The Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner (BA F&P) is a two-level EXIN certification developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. Foundation validates knowledge of business analysis concepts and techniques, while Practitioner validates applying them in real project scenarios. Both align to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Is the BA F&P certification worth it in Singapore?

Yes. Business analysis is among Singapore's most in-demand skills in 2026, and employers across banking, fintech, government and technology hire credentialed analysts. Business analyst pay ranges from around S$84,000 to senior bands near S$150,000, so the credentials offer strong career value. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

    Who should take this course?

The programme suits aspiring analysts, IT professionals and project staff moving into business analysis, and practising analysts formalising their skills. Product owners, consultants and change professionals also benefit. There are no formal prerequisites for the Foundation level.

    Which body governs the certification?

The credentials are issued by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, the UK's chartered professional body for IT. They are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge and quality-assured by BCS, and are recognised across Singapore, Asia, the UK and worldwide.

How long are the certifications valid?

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are for lifetime. Neither credential expires, and no renewal, re-examination or continuing education is required once you have earned them.

    Pricing

What is included in the BA F&P course fee?

The training fee typically includes EXIN BCS-aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and mock exams for both levels, dual exam vouchers where offered, and learner support. Confirm exact inclusions when you enquire. Request a quote for full details.

    Are the exam fees included?

EXIN exam pricing varies by region and purchasing channel, and dual exam vouchers are often bundled into accredited training packages. Confirm whether the Foundation and Practitioner vouchers are included in your package when you enquire.

    Exam

How many exams are in the BA F&P programme?

There are two separate exams: the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam. You must sit and pass both to hold both credentials. The combined training prepares you for each within one 32-hour programme.

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 40 closed-book, single-answer multiple-choice questions and runs for 60 minutes. The passing score is 65%, or 26 out of 40. It tests knowledge and comprehension across 14 business analysis topic areas.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 40 closed-book, scenario-based multiple-choice questions and runs for 60 minutes. The passing score is 65%, or 26 out of 40. Each question applies business analysis techniques to a realistic project scenario across seven topic areas.

What is the passing score for both exams?

Both exams require 65% to pass, which is 26 correct out of 40 questions. Foundation tests comprehension of BA concepts, while Practitioner tests applied judgement in scenarios.

Where can I take the exams?

You can sit both exams online through EXIN's proctored exam system or at an EXIN accredited testing location. They are usually arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the combined package.

Do I need to pass Foundation before Practitioner?

The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level. The two are designed to be taken sequentially, and the combined programme covers Foundation first, then Practitioner.

    Course Content

What topics does the training cover?

The Foundation level covers 14 topic areas including investigation techniques, requirements engineering, business process modelling, stakeholder management and business cases.
