The PMI-CP (PMI Construction Professional) certification path in Armenia is a structured single-exam track. You must complete the four-module training, document 3 years of construction or built-environment project experience earned within the past 10 years, then pass the 120-question, 230-minute PMI-CP exam delivered by PMI through Pearson VUE. From initial training to earning the PMI-CP designation typically takes 1-3 months.

Confirm You Meet the PMI-CP Eligibility Requirements

Confirm you can document 3 years of on-the-job experience in construction projects or built-environment projects (infrastructure, real estate, utilities, etc.). The experience must have been earned within the past 10 years. There is no foundational PMI credential prerequisite for PMI-CP.

Enroll in a Learning Program

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) certification?

The PMI-CP is the Project Management Institute's specialist credential for the construction industry. It validates your ability to deliver construction projects across four domains: Contracts Management (50 per cent), Stakeholder Engagement (30 per cent), Strategy and Scope Management (15 per cent) and Project Governance (5 per cent), grounded in the PMI-CP ECO and the PMBOK Guide.

Who should take PMI-CP training?

PMI-CP suits mid-to-senior construction professionals: construction project managers, site and project engineers moving into project management, contracts managers, programme managers, owner's representatives and construction consultants who want a globally recognised construction project management credential.

Is a PMP required before PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two are complementary: PMP validates general project management, while PMI-CP validates construction-specific expertise, and many professionals hold both.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle. Usefully, the 56 PDUs earned from the four mandatory prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and runs for 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). It is closed book with multiple-choice questions, delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-CP exam?

You must complete all four mandatory self-paced prerequisite modules, plus one of three experience sets: 60 months of construction project management experience with a secondary diploma, 36 months with a bachelor's degree, or 24 months with a GAC-accredited degree, all within the past 10 years, plus 35 contact hours of PM education.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

Before applying, you complete four self-paced PMI-CP modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total, which also count toward renewal.

What if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window. Our mock exams, domain-focused practice and trainer guidance are designed to build readiness across all four domains so you go in prepared, and re-examination fees apply for later attempts.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage. Results are reported with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.
