Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

It is a globally recognised, two-level qualification for managing the people and culture side of organisational change. Foundation validates your knowledge of change concepts and models, while Practitioner validates your ability to apply them to real scenarios. It is grounded in the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).

    General

What is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a globally recognised, two-level qualification for managing the people and culture side of organisational change. Foundation validates your knowledge of change concepts and models, while Practitioner validates your ability to apply them to real scenarios. It is grounded in the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).

Is the Change Management certification worth it in Botswana?

Yes. As Botswana diversifies its economy and rolls out digital government and public sector reform, employers in mining, banking, telecoms and government increasingly need certified change professionals. The credential is scarce locally, so it can help you stand out for change manager, OD and transformation roles.

    Who should take this course?

It suits project and programme managers, HR business partners, OD and L&D practitioners, consultants and leaders who lead or support organisational change. There are no formal prerequisites for Foundation, so it is open to professionals at any career stage.

Which change management models does the course cover?

The syllabus covers ADKAR, Bridges' Transition Model, Lewin's Three-Step Model, Kotter's 8-Step Model, the McKinsey 7-S Framework, Schein's culture model, Goleman's emotional intelligence domains and Cialdini's principles of influence, across five topic areas.

How is Change Management different from project management certifications?

Change Management focuses on the people side of change: stakeholder engagement, communication, resistance and embedding, which frameworks such as PRINCE2 do not cover in depth. The two are complementary, giving you a fuller toolkit for delivering both the technical and human dimensions of change.

    Pricing

How much does Change Management training cost in Botswana?

Fees vary by delivery format and whether exam vouchers are included, so pricing is available on request. Share your preferred format and group size and a learning advisor will provide a tailored quote for training in Botswana.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across both levels, aligned courseware, case studies, mock exams and practice questions, and learner support. Confirm whether the Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers are included when you request a quote.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams in Botswana. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your organisation.

Are the exam fees part of the training price?

Exam voucher inclusion varies by package. Some options bundle the Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers, while others price them separately. Ask your learning advisor to confirm what your chosen package covers.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you and to see upcoming batches.

    Exam

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions, lasts 40 minutes and is closed book. The pass mark is 50 per cent, which is 25 correct out of 50. It is usually taken at the end of the Foundation training.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book, scenario based and lasts 2.5 hours. It has five sections, each worth 16 marks, for a total of 80 marks. The pass mark is 50 per cent, which is 40 out of 80 marks.

How many exams are there and do I need to pass both?

There are two separate exams: Foundation and Practitioner. You must sit and pass both to hold both credentials. Foundation is taken first, and its certification is the prerequisite for the Practitioner exam.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the exam. However, the scenario questions require analysis and judgement, so you cannot simply look up answers. Both deep method knowledge and efficient guide navigation are essential, which our practice sessions build.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can re-sit an exam if needed. Our training includes mock exams and technique practice to help you prepare thoroughly for the first attempt. Ask about re-sit policies and any Flexi options when you enrol.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the course?

You will learn to lead individuals through change, apply organisational change models, engage stakeholders, build and deliver change plans, and manage yourself as a change practitioner. The programme spans all five topic areas of the Change Management Body of Knowledge.

Do I need prior experience or a qualification to start?

No. There are no formal prerequisites for the Foundation level, so beginners are welcome. To sit the Practitioner exam you need the Foundation certification first, which the combined programme covers in sequence.

    How long is the training?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is delivered as 40 hours of instructor-led training. The number of days depends on the schedule format, such as full-day intensive or extended half-day sessions.

What materials and practice are included?

You receive courseware aligned to both exam syllabi, industry case studies, mock exams and practice questions for both levels, plus open-book technique guidance for the Practitioner exam.

Is the courseware aligned to the current syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current Change Management Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi and grounded in the Change Management Practitioner Guide and the CMBoK maintained by the Change Management Institute.

How do I enrol in the course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

What training formats are available in Botswana?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions and customised corporate group training. This lets professionals across Botswana choose the format that fits their schedule and learning style.

    How soon can I start?

New batches run regularly across live virtual and classroom formats. See upcoming schedules on the website or ask a learning advisor about the next available cohort for training in Botswana.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?
