How to Get PMP Certified in ShenzhenStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMP certification path in Shenzhen is designed for experienced project managers. You complete the required 35 contact hours, document your project leadership experience, apply to PMI, prepare with mocks and assessments, and schedule your exam through Pearson VUE. Once you pass, you join the global community of 1.2 million+ PMP-certified professionals.

    Step 1: Eligibility Check

Confirm you meet one of PMI's two pathways: a four-year degree with 36 months of project leadership experience, or a secondary degree with 60 months of experience. Both pathways require 35 hours of project management education.

    Step 2: Enroll

Select the learning format that best suits your schedule and goals, including online, instructor-led, and corporate PMP training for teams. Once enrolled, you gain access to courseware, schedules, and a structured study plan to earn the required 35 contact hours.

    Step 3: Attend Classes

Complete live instructor-led sessions or self-paced learning modules included in your PMP training course online or classroom-based program. Participate in case discussions and cover the PMP syllabus across the People, Process, and Business Environment domains, including predictive, agile, and hybrid project management approaches.

Step 4: Document Experience and Apply to PMI

Document your project leadership experience (36 or 60 months, depending on pathway) and submit your PMP application to PMI. Our team supports you with the application process and experience documentation.

    Step 5: Preparation

Use 1,500+ practice questions, 5 full-length PMP mock exams, 1 Agile model exam, flashcards, and the exam simulator to strengthen weak areas and build speed for the 180-question exam.

Step 6: Schedule and Take the Exam

Once your PMI application is approved, schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE test center or take it online, proctored. Take the 230-minute, 180-question PMP exam covering People, Process, and Business Environment.

Step 7: Pass and Get Certified

After passing, you receive your PMP credential and digital badge, valid for three years. Maintain certification with 60 PDUs across the three-year cycle (35 in Education, 25 in Giving Back).

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is PMI's flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers. It validates your ability to lead and direct projects and teams using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, and suits experienced project managers, team leads and delivery professionals.

    General

What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is PMI's flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers. It validates your ability to lead and direct projects and teams using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, and suits experienced project managers, team leads and delivery professionals.

Is the PMP worth it for project managers in Shenzhen?

Yes. Shenzhen's technology, semiconductor, telecom and fintech employers run complex delivery programmes and value certified project leaders. PMP holders report a strong salary premium globally, and the credential helps you qualify for senior project and programme roles across the city.

    Is the PMP recognised internationally?

Yes. The PMP is recognised in over 200 countries and is widely regarded as the global gold standard of project management. It is referenced in employer job specifications, client contracts and procurement requirements worldwide, so the credential travels with you across sectors and regions.

What are the prerequisites for the PMP?

There are two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary diploma you need 60 months of leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours, which this training provides.

How long is the PMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle and report them through PMI's continuing certification requirements system.

    Pricing

How much does PMP training cost in Shenzhen?

PMP training fees vary by format, from self-paced e-learning to instructor-led and corporate options. The training fee is separate from the PMI exam fee. Contact a learning advisor for current Shenzhen pricing and to request a quote.

What is included in the PMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 35 contact hours, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, application guidance, learner support and a course completion certificate. The PMI exam fee is billed separately.

How much is the PMP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam fee in USD under regional pricing, and members pay less than non-members. PMI individual membership also lowers the exam and renewal costs. Confirm the current amounts on the PMI store before you apply.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts for PMP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for project teams, PMOs and delivery groups in Shenzhen. Contact us for a tailored quote for your team.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

The PMP exam has 180 questions and runs for 230 minutes, which is three hours and 50 minutes, including two 10-minute scheduled breaks. It is closed book and uses multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank questions.

What are the PMP exam domains?

The updated exam covers five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (15%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

Which edition is the PMP exam based on?

The current PMP exam is aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the updated PMP Examination Content Outline. About half the content reflects agile or hybrid approaches, so preparation covers both predictive and agile delivery.

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, and performance is reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I take the exam and how many attempts do I get?

You can take the exam through Pearson VUE, either online with OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. You have up to three attempts within a one-year eligibility window from application approval.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You can retake the exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our practice resources and trainer support help you close gaps before you sit again.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMP training?

You will learn to lead teams, plan and control scope, schedule, cost, quality and risk, engage stakeholders and connect projects to business value. The content maps to the five exam domains across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.

Does the PMP course cover agile?

Yes. Around half the exam reflects agile or hybrid approaches, and the training covers Scrum, Kanban and Lean practices alongside predictive methods, including backlogs, sprints, velocity and hybrid tailoring, so you are prepared for the full exam.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PMP Examination Content Outline, practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator, downloadable templates and chapter-wise quizzes to support your preparation.

Do I need prior experience to attend the training?

You can attend the training with any level of experience, and it delivers the 35 contact hours you need. To sit the PMI exam, however, you must meet PMI's experience prerequisites of 36 or 60 months of leading projects depending on your education.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition, so you study the same content structure and delivery approaches the exam now tests.

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.
