The Skills You Will Build as a Scrum MasterAligned to Scrum Alliance Learning Objectives

This CSM programme builds genuine Scrum framework fluency and the facilitation skills to lead agile teams. By the end you can run every Scrum event, manage the artefacts, and coach a team toward real agility, all aligned to the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives.

    Scrum Theory and Empiricism

In this CSM course you will learn to explain the empirical foundations of Scrum and its three pillars of transparency, inspection and adaptation. You will understand why Scrum thrives in complex work, how it connects to the Agile Manifesto, and how it differs from predictive delivery.

    The Five Scrum Values

Apply commitment, focus, openness, respect and courage to build trust and psychological safety in a team. You will see how living the Scrum values enables the three pillars and how their absence undermines agile adoption.

    Building Effective Scrum Teams

Understand the accountabilities of the Scrum Master, Product Owner and Developers, and how a small, self-managing, cross-functional team works without hierarchy. You will learn how to enable self-management rather than direct it.

    Facilitating the Five Scrum Events

Facilitate the Sprint, Sprint Planning, the Daily Scrum, the Sprint Review and the Sprint Retrospective, including their purpose and timeboxes. You will practise retrospective formats and techniques that keep events productive and outcome-focused.

    Managing the Three Scrum Artefacts

Work with the Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog and Increment, and the commitments that give them focus: the Product Goal, Sprint Goal and Definition of Done. You will learn to write good Sprint Goals and apply the Definition of Done as a quality gate.

    Servant Leadership and Coaching

Serve the team, Product Owner and organisation as a servant leader rather than a manager. You will build facilitation, coaching and impediment-removal skills to help teams and stakeholders enact an empirical, agile approach.
