The Product Owner Skills You Will MasterFrom Vision to Release

Skills covered in CSPO span the full Product Owner role, from Scrum theory and the Product Owner accountability to product vision, backlog management, stakeholder engagement and release planning. By the end of the course you can own a product vision and maximise the value your Scrum Team delivers.

Apply Scrum Theory as a Product Owner

Use empiricism and the pillars of transparency, inspection and adaptation to make product decisions, and model the Scrum values when working with your team and stakeholders.

    Own the Product Owner Accountability

Take on the single accountability for maximising product value, exercise decision authority over backlog content and ordering, and collaborate effectively within the Scrum Team.

Define Product Vision and Product Goal

Craft a compelling product vision, set the Product Goal as the Product Backlog commitment, and build a roadmap that connects long-term direction to Sprint delivery.

Manage and Order the Product Backlog

Write effective user stories, apply INVEST and acceptance criteria, refine items continuously, and order the backlog by value, risk, learning and dependencies.

    Engage Stakeholders and Maximise Value

Identify and map stakeholders, gather feedback through the Sprint Review and product discovery, and measure the business outcomes a product delivers, not just its outputs.

    Plan and Forecast Releases

Use velocity-based forecasting, MVP and minimal marketable feature thinking, and incremental delivery to plan releases and communicate timelines with confidence.
