The Product Ownership Skills You Will BuildFrom Vision to Value

This CSPO training builds the core skills of the Product Owner role, from Scrum theory to backlog management and release planning. By the end you can define a product vision, order a Product Backlog and maximise the value your team delivers.

Apply Scrum Theory as a Product Owner

Use empiricism and the pillars of transparency, inspection and adaptation to guide product decisions, and model the Scrum values in your daily work with stakeholders and the team.

    Own the Product Owner Accountabilities

Understand what it means to be the single person accountable for value, exercise decision authority over the Product Backlog, and collaborate effectively with Developers and the Scrum Master.

Define Product Vision and Product Goal

Craft a compelling product vision, set the Product Goal as the Product Backlog's commitment, and build a roadmap that connects long-term direction to each Sprint.

Manage and Order the Product Backlog

Write effective user stories using INVEST, refine the backlog, and order items by value, risk and dependencies using techniques such as MoSCoW, weighted shortest job first and the Kano model.

    Engage Stakeholders and Maximise Value

Map stakeholders, gather feedback through the Sprint Review and customer discovery, and measure the business outcomes your product delivers, not just the features shipped.

    Plan Releases and Forecast Delivery

Plan releases, forecast with velocity, apply MVP and minimal marketable feature thinking, and flex scope transparently to deliver value early and often.
