Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No prior experience is needed for the Fundamentals level, though basic familiarity with project concepts helps. For the Advanced level, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on P6 experience.

Is there an exam for Oracle Primavera P6 training?

No. This is a non-certification, skills-focused course with no examination at either level. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Primavera P6 exercises using realistic project scenarios throughout the programme.

Do I receive anything on completion?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after completing the programme. The training builds practical P6 skills that are immediately applicable and do not expire.

How is learning reinforced during the course?

Every module is taught with live P6 exercises. You follow along as the trainer demonstrates each feature, then practise on realistic construction and capital-project scenarios to build genuine proficiency.

Will I be able to use P6 at work straight away?

Yes. The course is designed for immediate workplace application. After Fundamentals you can build and update a project schedule, and after Advanced you can cost-load, report Earned Value and manage multiple projects in P6.

Is this course vendor-neutral or product-specific?

It is product-specific to Oracle Primavera P6, taught with hands-on exercises in the software itself, while grounding you in the underlying methods such as the Critical Path Method and Earned Value Management that P6 applies.

Course Content

What topics does the Fundamentals level cover?

Fundamentals covers the P6 interface and enterprise project structure (EPS, OBS, WBS), activity creation and types, calendars, relationships, running the scheduler, critical path and float, resource assignment, baselines, progress updating and basic reports.

What does the Advanced level add?

Advanced adds advanced scheduling options, resource and cost loading, cost accounts and resource curves, Earned Value Management, baseline management and Claim Digger, multi-project and portfolio management, custom reporting and Excel integration.

Are the exercises based on real projects?

Yes. Both levels use realistic construction, engineering and capital-project scenarios so you build proficiency through practice. In corporate delivery, exercises can be tailored to your own sector and project data.

Will I learn Earned Value Management in P6?

Yes, at the Advanced level. You learn to cost-load a schedule and calculate and interpret Earned Value metrics including BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, SPI, CPI, EAC and TCPI directly in Primavera P6 for performance reporting.

How long is each level and how many hours is it?

Fundamentals runs for 2 days totalling 16 hours, and Advanced runs for 3 days totalling 24 hours. Both are available as full-day sessions or extended half-day formats depending on the schedule.
