    Step 1: Confirm PgMP Eligibility

    Verify you meet one of the three eligibility sets (Set A / Set B / Set C) , secondary diploma OR bachelor's degree OR GAC-accredited bachelor's, plus 48/48/36 months of project management (or PMP) experience plus 84/48/36 months of program management experience within the past 15 years.

    The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

    The PgMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

    What are the five PgMP exam domains and their weights?

    The five performance domains are Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), as set out in the PgMP ECO.

    What is the PgMP panel review?

    The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

    What happens if I do not pass the exam, can I retake it?

    Yes. PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts at pmi.org before rebooking.
