What Is the PMP Credential?Your Route to Global Project Leadership

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is the Project Management Institute's flagship credential for professionals who lead and direct projects and teams. PMP certification training in Cleveland prepares you to plan, deliver and govern work using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, and to evidence that capability to employers across Northeast Ohio. The program is built around PMI's current PMP Examination Content Outline, which is anchored to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition. You work through all five performance domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts, Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies, Agile Frameworks and Methodologies, Business Analysis and Strategic Management, and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication. You then practice against the real exam shape, 180 questions in 230 minutes, delivered through Pearson VUE. Delivered live online, in the classroom and as corporate sessions, the training suits project managers, delivery leads and team leads who already lead project work. Cleveland's health systems, manufacturers, banks and contractors are all running large capital and transformation programs, and this credential signals you can run them. Once you pass, you join the global community of 1.2 million+ PMP-certified professionals.

    Step 1: Eligibility Check

    Step 2: Enroll

Select the learning format that best suits your schedule and goals, including online, instructor-led, and corporate PMP training for teams. Once enrolled, you gain access to courseware, schedules, and a structured study plan to earn the required 35 contact hours.

    Step 3: Attend Classes

Complete live instructor-led sessions or self-paced learning modules included in your PMP training course online or classroom-based program. Participate in case discussions and cover the PMP syllabus across the People, Process, and Business Environment domains, including predictive, agile, and hybrid project management approaches.

Step 4: Document Experience and Apply to PMI

Document your project leadership experience (36 or 60 months, depending on pathway) and submit your PMP application to PMI. Our team supports you with the application process and experience documentation.

    Step 5: Preparation

Use 1,500+ practice questions, 5 full-length PMP mock exams, 1 Agile model exam, flashcards, and the exam simulator to strengthen weak areas and build speed for the 180-question exam.

Step 6: Schedule and Take the Exam

Once your PMI application is approved, schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE test center or take it online, proctored. Take the 230-minute, 180-question PMP exam covering People, Process, and Business Environment.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMP is the Project Management Institute's flagship credential, validating your competence to lead and direct projects and teams using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches. It is built for experienced project managers, delivery leads and team leads who already lead project work and want globally recognized proof of it.

    General

What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

The PMP is the Project Management Institute's flagship credential, validating your competence to lead and direct projects and teams using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches. It is built for experienced project managers, delivery leads and team leads who already lead project work and want globally recognized proof of it.

Is the PMP worth it for project managers in Cleveland?

Yes. Salary.com values the certification at roughly $19,279 in additional pay a year in Cleveland, where project managers average $100,893 and senior project managers average $152,950. Local demand comes from hospital capital programs, manufacturing modernization, banking change and downtown construction.

What are the eligibility requirements for the exam?

There are two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a high school diploma or associate degree you need 60 months of leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours.

How long is the certification valid and how do I renew it?

The credential is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 60 PDUs across PMI's Talent Triangle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each of Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen, and report them through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system.

Do Cleveland employers actually recognize the credential?

Yes. PMI's credential is recognized in more than 200 countries and appears routinely in job specifications across Northeast Ohio healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, construction and public sector employers, and in federal procurement requirements.

Which standard is the current exam based on?

The exam follows PMI's current PMP Examination Content Outline, which is anchored to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and also draws on the Agile Practice Guide. Our courseware is written against that same outline, so what you study is what you are tested on.

    Pricing

What is included in the training fee?

Your fee covers instructor-led sessions, PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions and full-length mock exams, downloadable templates, application guidance and post-training support, plus a course completion certificate documenting your contact hours. Request a quote for current pricing in Cleveland.

How much does the PMP exam cost?

PMI charges the exam separately. For reference, it is around USD 405 for PMI members and USD 555 for non-members, and membership costs roughly USD 139 a year. Prices change, so confirm the current figures at pmi.org before you apply.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. The training fee and the PMI exam fee are separate. You purchase and schedule the exam directly through PMI and Pearson VUE, which also means you control the timing of your attempt.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing for Cleveland teams?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customized schedules and volume-based pricing, delivered onsite in Northeast Ohio or live virtual. Talk to us about a group quote for your team.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and installment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that fits your budget.

    Exam

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window, so a first attempt is not your only chance. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our trainers help you target the domains where your score report shows gaps.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 180 questions and runs 230 minutes, which includes two scheduled 10-minute breaks. It is closed book and uses multiple-choice single and multiple answer questions, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank items.

What domains does the exam cover and what are the weights?

Five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (15%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

    What is the passing score?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage. The pass mark is set through psychometric analysis, and your result comes back as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. Aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I sit the exam in Cleveland?

You can take it at a Pearson VUE test center or from home or the office using Pearson VUE's OnVUE online proctoring. You schedule either option through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website once your application is approved.

Does the exam cover agile as well as waterfall?

Yes, and heavily. Under the current outline, agile frameworks carry 27% of the exam as a dedicated domain, while predictive plan-based methodologies carry 28%. You are expected to work fluently across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.

    Course Content

Can I take this training if I have never held a project manager title?

Yes. Anyone can attend the training, and PMI's experience requirement counts leading projects rather than holding a formal title, so functional and team leads often qualify. Sessions build from principles upward, with hands-on exercises and trainer support throughout.

What topics does the course cover?

The course covers all five performance domains of the current exam content outline, including WBS, critical path and earned value on the predictive side, Scrum, Kanban, Lean and XP on the agile side, plus business analysis, benefits realization and stakeholder engagement.

Which edition of the PMBOK Guide is the courseware aligned to?

The courseware is aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition and the current PMP Examination Content Outline, and it references the Agile Practice Guide for iterative and hybrid delivery. You will not be studying superseded material.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. You get chapter-wise quizzes, practice questions and full-length mock exams that mirror the real 180-question, 230-minute format and question types, so you can find weak domains before exam day rather than during it.

Does the training give me the 35 contact hours PMI requires?

PMI requires 35 contact hours of project management education before you apply. The instructor-led program delivers structured contact hours toward that requirement, with guided self-study to close any remaining gap, and your completion certificate documents the hours for your application.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After you meet the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate recording the contact hours you earned, which you use as evidence of project management education in your PMI application.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enroll?

You can enroll online and join the next available cohort, with live online batches running regularly and classroom and corporate sessions scheduled on request. Choose your format, complete payment, and you get immediate access to schedules and courseware. See upcoming batches to pick your dates.

What training formats are available in Cleveland?

We offer PMP training online through live virtual instructor-led sessions, in-person classroom training, and customized corporate group training delivered onsite in Northeast Ohio. Weekend and weekday options are available so you can train around work.

How do I apply to PMI for the exam after training?

Create a PMI account, document your education and project leadership experience, and submit the application online. PMI reviews most applications within about five business days, and a random share are audited. Our team guides you through the documentation.

Can I reschedule or move to another batch?

Yes. You can reschedule or transfer to another cohort, and selected plans include a Flexi Pass that lets you attend the training twice. Contact learner support and we will arrange it.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations follow our published policy, and selected plans carry a money-back guarantee. Reach out to a learning advisor and we will confirm exactly what applies to your enrollment before you commit.
