What will I learn in the Lean IT Foundation Training?

You will learn to see IT work as value streams, remove waste, improve flow and lead continuous improvement. The course covers Lean principles, customer value, process improvement, performance, organisation, behaviour, Lean leadership and Kaizen.

What topics does the syllabus cover?

The official syllabus spans eight modules: introduction to Lean, focusing on the customer, improving existing processes, enhancing operational performance, organisation, behaviour and attitude, Lean IT leadership, and Lean IT Kaizen.

Do I need prior IT or Lean experience?

No. The training is suitable for beginners and needs no prior certification. A basic understanding of IT services and familiarity with Lean concepts is helpful but not essential, as the course introduces Lean clearly from the ground up.

What tools and techniques are covered?

You will practise Value Stream Mapping, SIPOC, 5S, Heijunka, Kanban and visual management, the Deming circle (PDCA), Voice of the Customer, Critical to Quality, Kaizen and the DMAIC problem-solving model.

What learning materials are provided?

You receive Lean IT courseware, a study guide created by subject matter experts, 50+ chapter-end quizzes, two mock assessments and practice-based learning support, all delivered with industry-driven case studies.

Is there an exam for the Lean IT Foundation Training?

No. This is a practical skills course with no exam. On finishing, you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning recognising your learning, and the training is built on the EXIN Lean IT Foundation body of knowledge.

How long is the Lean IT Foundation Training?

The training runs over two days, a total of 16 hours, covering Lean principles applied to IT across the eight-module syllabus, with practical exercises, case studies and chapter-end quizzes.

What will I receive on completing the course?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning as proof of your learning. It recognises that you have completed the training and are ready to apply Lean tools to IT delivery at work.
