Does this course complement other Six Sigma training?

Yes. DFSS is a strong complement to Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt training and to Minitab Essentials training. Where DMAIC improves existing processes, DFSS designs new ones, so together they cover both defect elimination and defect prevention.

What topics does the Design for Six Sigma training cover?

The course covers DFSS foundations and the DMADV roadmap, the Define phase (project charter, VOC, Kano), the Measure phase (CTQ flow-down, QFD), the Analyse phase (concept generation, Pugh matrix, DFMEA), the Design phase (robust design, P-diagram, DFMA) and the Verify phase (verification, validation, design scorecard, transfer).

What is the DMADV roadmap?

DMADV stands for Define, Measure, Analyse, Design and Verify. It is the most widely used DFSS roadmap for designing new products and processes, capturing customer requirements, translating them into CTQs, selecting and optimising a concept, and verifying performance before launch.

Which DFSS tools will I practise?

You will practise voice of the customer capture and Kano analysis, CTQ flow-down, Quality Function Deployment (the House of Quality), the Pugh concept selection matrix, Design FMEA with risk priority numbers, robust design with P-diagrams, tolerancing, and design verification and validation.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The course is beginner-friendly and introduces DFSS from first principles, so no prior DFSS experience is needed. Hands-on exercises and case examples support learners at every level, from new engineers to experienced Six Sigma practitioners.
