Assessment

Is there an exam for the QFD training?

No. This is a hands-on skills programme with no exam. Learning is reinforced through House of Quality construction exercises, case examples and team discussion during the one-day course.

Will I receive anything on completion of the course?

Yes. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. More importantly, you leave able to build and interpret a House of Quality for a real product or service straight away.

How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Practical House of Quality exercises and team activities run throughout the day, so you apply each concept as you learn it and confirm your understanding hands-on.

Is QFD a formal qualification?

QFD is a methodology and a practical workplace skill, not a formal qualification with a governing body. The course builds capability you can use immediately, and the House of Quality is recognised across product development worldwide.

Do the QFD skills expire or need renewal?

No. The skills you gain do not expire and require no renewal. QFD is an established, stable method, so what you learn stays applicable across projects and sectors.

Course Content

What topics does the QFD training cover?

The course covers QFD foundations, Voice of the Customer capture (affinity diagram, Kano model, importance weighting), full House of Quality construction across all six rooms, interpretation and design hot spots, the four-phase QFD cascade, and QFD in Design for Six Sigma and services.

What will I be able to do after the course?

You will be able to capture and structure customer needs, build a complete House of Quality, set measurable engineering targets, resolve design conflicts with the correlation roof, cascade requirements through the four phases, and apply QFD within Six Sigma projects.

Does the course include hands-on House of Quality practice?

Yes. You build and interpret a House of Quality from a realistic scenario during the training, including VOC structuring, the relationship matrix, the correlation roof and column-importance calculations.

Is the training relevant to services and software, not just manufacturing?

Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the course covers applications in services, healthcare, financial services and software, where customer requirements still need translating into delivery or design specifications.

How does QFD relate to Six Sigma?

QFD is a core tool in Design for Six Sigma (the DMADV Measure phase) and is used in the DMAIC Define phase to translate the Voice of the Customer into critical-to-quality requirements. Six Sigma practitioners apply the QFD skills from this course directly.
