How to Get PRINCE2 Certified in AustraliaStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PRINCE2 certification path in Australia is straightforward. You complete the accredited 35 contact hours, sit the Foundation exam, then progress to Practitioner. Both exams are administered by PeopleCert online or at approved test centers. Once you pass, you join the global community of 1,000,000+ PRINCE2-certified practitioners.

    Step 1: Eligibility Check

Confirm your readiness: Foundation has no prerequisites, while Practitioner requires a recognized prior credential such as PRINCE2 Foundation, PMQ, PPQ, PMP, CAPM, or IPMA Levels A, B, C, D.

    Step 2: Enroll

Choose your preferred learning mode (E-Learning, Instructor-Led Bootcamp, or Corporate Group Training) and batch. Once enrolled, you get access to AXELOS-accredited courseware, schedules, and your study plan.

    Step 3: Attend Classes

Complete instructor-led sessions or self-paced learning, participate in case discussions, and cover the PRINCE2 7th Edition syllabus across principles, practices, processes, people, and project context.

Step 4: Sit the Foundation Exam

Book your Foundation exam via the PeopleCert candidate portal. The exam is 60 multiple-choice questions over 60 minutes, closed book. Passing score: 60%. Our team supports you with exam booking and proctoring setup.

    Step 5: Preparation for Practitioner

Strengthen your readiness using practice questions, mock examinations, scenario-based exercises, and revision resources. This stage functions as a focused PRINCE2 exam prep training phase designed to build confidence for the Practitioner assessment.

Step 6: Sit the Practitioner Exam

Sit the 70-question, 150-minute Practitioner exam (open book, official PRINCE2 manual only). Passing score: 60%. The scenario-based questions test your ability to apply PRINCE2 in context.

Step 7: Pass and Get Certified

After passing both exams, you receive your PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner credentials and digital badges from PeopleCert. PRINCE2 Practitioner is valid for three years and renewable through PeopleCert.

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a globally recognised, structured project management method governed by AXELOS and awarded by PeopleCert. The combined certification covers both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, based on the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023).

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification?

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a globally recognised, structured project management method governed by AXELOS and awarded by PeopleCert. The combined certification covers both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, based on the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023).

    Is PRINCE2 recognised in Australia?

Yes. PRINCE2 is recognised across Australia and worldwide, and is valued by government, infrastructure, IT, banking and consulting employers. PeopleCert operates in over 200 countries, and more than one million PRINCE2 certificates have been issued globally.

Who should take this PRINCE2 course?

The course suits project managers, coordinators, team members and IT professionals, as well as PMP or CAPM holders working in Australian and Commonwealth markets. It is ideal for anyone who wants a recognised, structured method to deliver projects with confidence.

Do I need prior experience to start?

No. PRINCE2 Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The Practitioner level requires Foundation (or an equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA), and the combined program takes you through both levels in sequence.

How long is the PRINCE2 certification valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. Foundation is renewed by earning 60 CPD points, while Practitioner can be renewed by re-sitting the exam, completing CPD via MyAxelos, or passing a higher-level PRINCE2 qualification.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in Australia?

Pricing varies by format, such as live virtual, classroom, self-paced or corporate group training, and is available on request. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share current batch options and inclusions for the combined program.

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes PRINCE2 7 aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, revision materials and learner support for both levels. Exam guidance is provided so you can book confidently through PeopleCert.

Are the PeopleCert exam fees included?

Exam vouchers are often bundled with accredited training packages, but this depends on the option you choose. Confirm the exact inclusions with a learning advisor before you enrol, and ask about a combined training and dual exam package.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and project offices across Australia. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that best suits you.

    Exam

How many exams are in the combined PRINCE2 course?

There are two separate PeopleCert exams: the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam. You must sit and pass both to hold both credentials, and each exam is based on the current PRINCE2 7 syllabus.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 60 multiple-choice questions and runs for 60 minutes. It is closed book and single-answer, with a pass mark of 60 percent, which is 36 out of 60 correct. It tests your knowledge and comprehension of the PRINCE2 method.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, and runs for 150 minutes. It is open book, scenario-based, with a pass mark of 60 percent, which is 42 out of 70 marks. It tests how you apply and tailor PRINCE2.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects (7th Edition) manual during the Practitioner exam. You can refer to it while answering, though time management matters, as the questions require judgment and analysis, not just look-up.

Where and how do I sit the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams are delivered by PeopleCert, either online through 24/7 remote proctoring or at an authorised test centre. They are usually arranged through your accredited training package, and our team guides you through booking.

    Course Content

What topics does the PRINCE2 course cover?

The course covers the full PRINCE2 7 method: the seven principles, the People capability, the seven practices such as Business Case, Risk and Quality, the seven processes from Starting Up to Closing a Project, and tailoring the method to real projects.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. Foundation has no prerequisites and is designed for those new to PRINCE2 or project management, so the combined program is beginner friendly. The training builds from core concepts up to applying and tailoring the method at Practitioner level.

Is the course aligned to the latest PRINCE2 edition?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), which introduces the People capability, renames Themes to Practices, and integrates agile and sustainability considerations across the method.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The program includes practice questions and full mock exams for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, plus quizzes and revision aids to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

    What materials will I receive?

How do I enrol in the PRINCE2 course?

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, self-paced e-learning, and customised corporate group training, so you can pick the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

Can I reschedule or transfer my batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans include the option to attend the training again. Contact support to arrange this.
