What Is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner Certification?Your Route to Certified Change Leadership

The Change Management Foundation and Practitioner (CM-F&P) certification is a two-level qualification that validates your ability to manage the people and culture side of organisational change. Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification training in Cardiff takes you from understanding core change theory to applying it in real organisational scenarios, so you can lead adoption, not just delivery. The programme is aligned to the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK), published by the Change Management Institute, and to the current Change Management Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi and the Change Management Practitioner Guide. You cover five topic areas: change and the individual, change and the organisation, communication and stakeholder engagement, change practice, and personal and professional management. Along the way you work with established models including ADKAR, Bridges' Transition Model, Lewin, Kotter's 8-Step Model and McKinsey 7-S. It suits change managers, project and programme managers, HR business partners, consultants and leaders across Cardiff's financial services, public sector and healthcare organisations. Foundation builds your knowledge; Practitioner proves you can apply it. Start your change management journey with Invensis Learning and earn a globally respected credential.

Both are aligned to the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).

    General

What is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a two-level qualification that validates your ability to manage the people and culture side of organisational change. Foundation confirms your knowledge of change management concepts and models, and Practitioner confirms you can apply them to real organisational scenarios. Both are aligned to the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).

Who should take this course in Cardiff?

It suits change managers, project and programme managers, HR business partners, organisational development practitioners, consultants and leaders. In Cardiff it is especially relevant to professionals in financial services, the public sector, NHS Wales and utilities who lead or support change.

Is the change management qualification recognised in the UK?

Yes. The Change Management qualification is recognised in over 150 countries and is particularly well respected in the UK, where organisational change management is a recognised professional discipline. It is valued by Cardiff employers across financial services, public sector and healthcare.

Do I need to take Foundation before Practitioner?

Yes. Foundation certification is required before you sit the Practitioner exam. The combined programme is designed to be taken sequentially, covering Foundation content first and then Practitioner, so you build knowledge before applying it.

What career benefits does the certification offer?

It positions you for roles such as change analyst, change manager, transformation lead and head of change. In the UK, change manager roles typically pay around £52,000 to £65,000, with senior transformation roles reaching considerably higher, and certified professionals stand out in a talent pool deep in project managers.

    Pricing

How much does the training cost in Cardiff?

Fees vary by delivery format and schedule, and the combined programme includes both Foundation and Practitioner preparation. Exam fees may be billed separately depending on the package. For current Cardiff pricing, request a quote and a learning advisor will confirm the details.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies, Foundation and Practitioner mock exams and practice questions, exam preparation guidance and learner support. Exam vouchers are often included in the package. Confirm exact inclusions when you enrol.

Are the exam fees included in the price?

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments across Cardiff and Wales. Contact us for a group quote tailored to your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions in a single-answer format, lasts 40 minutes and is closed book. The pass mark is 50%, which is 25 out of 50 correct. It is delivered by online proctoring or at an authorised test centre.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book and scenario-based, comprising five sections each worth 16 marks, for 80 marks in total. You have 2.5 hours (150 minutes), and the Change Management Practitioner Guide is permitted. The pass mark is 50%, which is 40 out of 80 marks.

What is the passing score for both exams?

Both exams require 50% to pass. For Foundation that is 25 out of 50 questions correct, and for Practitioner that is 40 out of 80 marks across the five scenario sections.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

It means the Change Management Practitioner Guide is permitted during the exam. However, the scenario sections require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Both efficient guide navigation and deep method knowledge are essential, and our training prepares you for both.

What happens if I do not pass an exam first time?

You can resit the exam you did not pass. Our training includes mock exams and exam technique to prepare you thoroughly for a first-time pass, and a learning advisor can explain the current resit policy and any options included in your package.
